I'd assume stuff like getting a bunch of crit runes when you don't play Tryndamere or Shaco.

anyone here around 1400+ play poppy regularly? if opponents dont have much CC, she generally gets a kill every time she uses ult and summoner spells. in other words, she's the perfect anti-carry, and i know most people already know that. but if they do have CC, when she charges in with ult on, she's an initiator who tanks CC (what other champ can do that?). that's a great role to play. if i ever start playing ranked again (if i do well at MLG raleigh i'll probably let some LoL back in my schedule) i'll probably play poppy. AD or AP doesn't really matter. if their squishies are really squishy, it takes barely any offensive items to blow them up. for AP, lich bane + deathfire grasp is enough to nuke a squishy down. so merc treads, cleanse sash, GA. run around doing whatever you want

her early laning usually isn't great. she has some good burst and stun if she can ram into a wall but it's hard to make that happen against people purposely defending against it. once she hits 6 though she gets much stronger. hit 6, go shop, pick up a buff maybe, then go tower dive someone.

also i think there are a lot of bad poppies and a lot of poppies who think they're good because their opponents dont know how to play against poppy

Galio isn't a problem, although hes a high pick for sure since AoE CC rapes.

Vlad isn't really that OP or anything, but I totally disagree with the champion concept. Heals in general are fairly broken in LoL early game because of the mana concept. If you take the DotA alternative, heroes like Enchant or Necro exhaust their mana in 2 heals, where in LoL, you can spam it indefinitely.

The "Solo" metagame has gone from stuff like zoning X vs Annie to avoid a death spike to things like "Kat Spam! Nid Heal Spam! Spear Spam! Transfusion Spam!" which pretty much throws the skill ceiling out the window.

not sure I fully agree... more skill usage early gives players more variance in how they choose to play. I don't really like the direction vlad takes solo play, but the Kat/Nid/Panth/Annie glory days were very interesting IMO. there was a lot of ability usage, but that just meant there was a lot of variety in the play and plenty of decisions to make which led to a very skill intensive and exciting 1v1 early game. what I hate about vlad is just the never ending healing. he's just going to grind you down and with the range on it and no cost to limit it, there's pretty much nothing anyone can do to stop it.

But Kassadin is kinda also victim to the "spam Q and win" disease. Though I don't think he's anyways near as ezwin as most other spam heroes.

Incidentally this is kinda what I mentioned on Skype isn't it :p I feel like when you hit top X you automatically need to have confidence in yourself, even an inflated egotistical one, because you need to be able to carry through bad teammates and you have to be able to win every matchup and you have to be able to trudge through almost-unavoidable losses >_<

well, that's what I hear people bitching about vlad saying, so I was just kinda guessing. I barely solo anymore, lol, and when I do, it's garen solo top which is T_T vs. vlad's stupid tricksies.

I only play the most retarded laning hero in the game so I dunno, I definitely think it's annoying how much heal/spam he has, though, so I can see him demolishing most ranged DPS etc. His hero design is just stupid, sigh. I dunno what's with Riot and these self-replenishing heroes. Garen's passive is annoying enough, why're they giving so many heroes base staying power?

This exactly. Spammable Spells are fine. Spammable Heals are not.

Spammable spells are annoying but they're usually offset by a lack of staying power that has to be overcome via skill - as much as I feel like I should win every Kassadin vs Ezreal matchup they're always very tense and there's a HUGE amount of yomi and positioning involved...

By contrast when I'm against like, Nidalee it's just *rolls eyes* stop healing.

Mord is the least scary damage tank out there IMO. I'm considerably more scared of Cho and NuNu TBH.

His survivability is so good >.< but yea I know I was only joking really, I just cant harass him effectively whenever I lane against him and he can tower dive so early its annoying. >.>

God i hate when such games happen - i stole golem from shaco, ganked every lane, when i got lvl 7 they all had 0/1 except for 4/1 ez (he got lane vs janna/shaco and killed shaco 3 times by then lol -.-) and of course we lose TT

Set Morde up in a 1v2 lane and he's bloody unstoppable. Almost guaranteed to take down a tower early by himself. I get early double-kills with him fairly often. He's amazingly durable midgame and still very powerful by the start of late game.

Just as a tank there are better champs, and as far as damage is concerned, there are far better champs. I'll often rack up kills and towers early/mid game as Morde, only to find myself becoming useless late game.

Damn can he farm though. <3

a good poppy makes fights 4v4, then 5v4 when she makes it back to the fight. a good poppy is really fucking scary when she DIs you.

Late game Mord's ult actually becomes pretty amazing. Takes out 1/3 of my health despite FoN. Everything else about him falls off, though - unless he gets their fed DPS carry as a pet.

Also, re: poppy, you need a team that can handle basically a 4v4 situation or at least survive until you've flattened the enemy carry.
