He's hitting harder than he should be, but he's always been the most dominating ranged DPS hero, IMO. I'm still irked by the extra 50+ damage (about 25 minutes in he's doing like an extra 200 damage it's kinda stupid) bug though, which is the main reason why I wanted/want him ban.
It's also why I mentioned, I'm not going to take away from EzPz's play of him. He did well, and he feasted on an Ashe that was inexperienced 1v1ing an AD Ez, but as the game goes on the bug becomes unbelievably stupid.

It's also probably why Turkey struggled to notice a difference, because he primarily played AD Ezreal, and he's always hit that hard. He didn't notice the, what, 20 damage differential as someone pointed out earlier? Early in the game, and he was probably testing in practice games so he didn't bother to check its mid-late game scaling.

I just went on a 6-1 winstreak with Yi trying out my new hybrid AP builds with a 2v1 lane. AP Yi is retarded good but he's reliant on killing people because he can't really backdoor hard. DPS Yi can't handle a 2v1 lane. Solution? Open AP with Doran's Ring + pot (mana or hp, your choice, I take hp in case i can't meditate on the fly but I also have full glyphs and seals of mp5/lv) and take the top solo lane.
0/21/9 for the exp in utility tree and ghost/cleanse masteries.
You have a jungler, right? Take the 2v1 lane. Focus 100% on not dying and farming easy creeps with alpha + last hits and hug tower to avoid harass.
In order, QWQWQRQEQEREEEWRWW. If that's hard to remember, just put two points into meditate at levels 2 and 4 and max R>Q>E>W. Meditate is nice, but you're not tanking or going full AP.
If you're getting zoned out you just have to hope they want to farm and wait for your jungler to come and harass. They shouldn't die from it if they're smart, but you just want to get out there and start killing. Once you're free from your prison, farm until you have enough for a blasting wand and boots. Go back to buy them, but wait until it's safe.
Get back to lane and farm until you either A) push the tower when they leave lane or B) have to leave lane to kill someone. Usually I won't leave to save someone because that risks me getting killed. Once this happens, either take one more turret if you can (highlander + ghost/cleanse your way out of anything dangerous) or go back and shop. Buy Rageblade and choose a path:
Recurve Bow
Another Blasting Wand
If you choose the Recurve Bow path you're going to be a little squishier, but you will backdoor really, really hard. I get a Last Whisper as soon as possible if I grab Recurve. If you choose the Blasting Wand option you're going for more of an AP nuke build. Alpha in, activate Wuju Style and Highlander, hit some squishies, get out, ghosting if you have to, meditate your hp and run in to start again.
Alternatively, backdoor a lane. Clear creep waves with alpha strike, which one-shots waves, and activate Wuju Style. Save Highlander + Ghost/Cleanse for escapes as much as you can.
Eventually you'll be able to make fun choices like "do I help my team and get an ace or backdoor two of their towers and an inhibitor while they're fighting?" Hybrid Yi relies on good decision making in these types of situations. I generally just backdoor because it's so much fun to hit their inhibs and run away baiting them. If they make the decision to just ignore you, start whacking their nexus towers and they'll shit themselves.
The rest of the items are up to you. If you went the Zhonya's path you should consider going more of a traditional AP build with Void Staff or Rylai's. I usually end up getting Last Whisper and some sort of BF Sword item and either a Bloodthirster or a Bilgewater Cutlass. Stark's is potentially good too, but honestly you won't be near your team long enough for it to make a difference.
The main point of this build is to backdoor at levels 14-18 by leveling Wuju Style early with a Rageblade. Activating Wuju Style makes you do around 250 per hit on towers and they fall relatively fast as your attackspeed builds. Then, your AP is high from the 8 stacks on Rageblade so you can meditate for a ton. If you get chased, you're out with ghost/cleanse/highlander.
Anyway this is how I play my hybrid Yi when there's a 2v1 lane, lemme know if you have any suggestions for me to improve on.

When you guys play AD ezreal, do you like leveling up E or W first (after Q)? I really like having blink on low cooldown so I usually get E, but W technically has a greater damage potential. I am so conflicted =| I usually like to get blink on low CD so that I can REALLY skimp out on survivability items and just go pure damage.
So the build, Sheen, brutalizer, pickaxe, BF sword, bloodrazor...how does that sound? I'm pretty clueless when it comes to Ez.

pretty much without fail they were doing sheen, brut, trifroce, into a survivability item or black cleaver last night, with a red elixir pump.

the issues with the recent tournament should be resolved 100% with bans and earlier team picking, so i completely agree with this.
However i think it needs to be planned a bit earlier than fri/sat imo. Gives people a chance to practice their other champs, and/or decide if they want to play.

well, I know at least my fingers are crossed that they'll have hotfixed that bonus damage by the time you guys do another of these tournies. If I have to go all week seeing 2 Ezreals in every game, I'm gonna be sad.

lol i love the way kat somehow made it into that list wtf? btw ezpz do you understand how ban/draft picking works? it's not a global ban that span across all games. the captains/teams choose which characters to ban during which games. btw for those who don't know, the system is 1-2-2-1 bans and 1-2-2-2-2-1 picks with alternating teams starting with the first pick

Games didnt start until like 12:45. We wasted a lot of time trying to pick teams and get things organized. It would be great if we could be more organized ahead of time so it wouldn't take more than 15min before the first game started.

No, it was a bug that spawned from when they tried to clean up the hitbox for the stun, because people would simply walk over it and not get stunned. So they introduced this ugly method where it'd check for people standing over it every second or so and induce the stun. The side-effect is that if you're stunned, you're standing on it, so you're perma-stunned until it wears off... and then some, because the math worked out so that before the hitbox vanished it would initiate another stun counter on you. Thus, you'd be stunned for a total of like 7.2 seconds or something whack like that.
