Don't go straight AP, AP/Tank Hybrid is much more effective. You don't really need a boat load of AP to be effective so focus on items which make you bulkier as well. Things like RoA, Abyssal Scepter, and the like all go well on him.
The new malady also works really well on AP builds because the ASPD is useful for your ult while the MR shredding does wonders for your stun and shield.

so I was trying to catch up with this thread, but then gave up. Are they seriously thinking of adding 75% AD to Sivir's Boomerang? Because that sounds un fucking believable to me. She'd be so strong  ...

I just switched my main from Janna to Katarina and I'm getting all these guides that tell me different things x.x
Some say AP some say DPS, some are 'pre nerf' and some are 'post nerf'
Every single one basically tells me a different list of items and masteries lol
I am in total confusion. Does anyone play Kat as their main and have any advice for a Kat-newbie 
I've only had 2 games with her so far but she seems quite fun as a ganker.

no matter what, you should open:
d-shield
sorc shoes
AD is easier to play at first, so do that... Just max your Bouncing blade and then stack BF Swords and giant's belts, eventually making bloodthirsters, sunfire capes, rylai's when you run out of slots
AP you get rylai's after the opening and then it's a big situational ???????? as to what's next.

2) She's much better served being a tank, especially since most people are stupid and attack her.

Thanks Uta, but what I'm wondering is has anyone jungled Eve since her passive was changed? She now only takes 50% DMG from non-neutral minions so I'm not sure if jungling is even possible on her anymore.

To be fair though, with the re-rise of ranged carries, I bet Kat can go back to absolutely stomping kids solomid, and without 5 tanks to cc her and/or soak her damage she might be able to get some voracity chains going again. Too bad the only people that mained Kat all quit or play other things now.

Q is still a really strong DPS skill, so I imagine you could make it work. I'd just try shit out in Practice game if I were you.

Her passive wasn't changed... the wording was corrected. She never took reduced damage from jungle minions.

can someone tell me what the current meta is and a brief history of the meta at high levels? include the following info: strat, why it was good, best champs, counter/reason for transition to other meta
1) heal comp
reason: infinitely sustainable pushes
champs: soraka, taric, whoever else
counter: ignite, more burst?
2) tanky
reason: deal damage with abilities, more tanky = more time doing damage
champs: garen, amumu
counter: better positioning/cc, kog
3) I hear people say ranged dps is good, where you just protect the carry and keep everything cc'd?
also, why does elementz say Kayle is T4?

reason: champs weren't balanced
champs: whoever was broken atm
counter: Riot balancing team
2) tf meta
reason: tf
champs: tf
counter: Riot balancing team
3) AoE spam team
reason: really strong AoE damage and disables
champs: Fiddle, Annie, Sivir, Alistar, Malphite, Katarina, Pantheon, Amumu
counter: a few key nerfs + poke/heal team rising
4) Poke Heal team
reason: could win attrition without strong initiation, thus it could break AoE spam teams by just 5v5 kiting them to death. Also Essense Flux was RETARDED.
champs: Ezreal, Ashe, Janna, Soraka, Nidalee, Taric, Warwick
counter: Riot balancing team, draft mode
5) Tank spam team
reason: tanks hit too fucking hard
champs: Garen, Amumu, Udyr, Warwick, Olaf, Sion
counter: ghost + flash, kog maw
what we have now is fairly balanced from what I've seen so I wouldn't classify it next to any of the other FotM metas.
Kayle is in tier 4 because you need to build a team around her. She brings really poor CC to the table, is fairly weak at laning/ganking for a carry and is just generally a bit clunky. I think he has overreacted with her positioning on the tier list, but she doesn't feel all that strong atm.
