I KNEW THAT WAS COMING AS SOON AS HE POSTED THAT. I KNEW IT! orz Sunfire Shaco is absolutely retarded because the whole point of Shaco is to have mobility and backstabbing power. Heroes that you *should* stack Sunfires on will outdamage you in a terribly bad way, which is really pathetic, and the only way you'll fire farm that much on a Shaco is if you're playing stupid enemies, too, because his farming speed is really bad. Edit: Sunfires work on most tanks because tanks (generally jungling tanks) are always going to be leading the fray, and tend to have a lot of point-blank AoE spells - adding Sunfire speeds up your farming speed and gives you some nice tools (HP/armor) to do your job while helping you punish them a bit for ignoring you. This is particularly the case with Malphite and Amumu, both of whom have comparatively tremendous burst point-blank AoE damage (or in the case of Amumu, Sunfire complements his innate point-blank DoT). Nasus is a hero that's structured in such a way that his ult and Q (in tandem with Sheen procs) cause him to output insane amounts of damage. So your attention turns to his secondary role, which is an off-tank. I believe Brees' Nasus guide linked-to in the first post runs stuff like Veil after Sheen, but I'm pretty simple-minded and just stack Sunfires, because I'm an idiot like that.

With Nasus, what you want to do is itemize to optimize (:D) your Siphoning Strike Ability, Trinity force is a must have item when it comes to increasing your dps. Then when you feel happy with how much dmg you are doing, or your generally are getting owned in the lanes you'll want to get some survivabilty items. A vampiric scepter should be one of ur first items just because it works well with SS mass dmg!

at lvl 18 with ult you hit 4k hp with 150 armor and 100+ MR. so you are really tough to take down. your dps is still pretty good with syphon strike (try to get it over 70 bonus dmg every game at minimum) + sheen/triforce. also wither is THE anticarry skill in the game. cast it on that fed tris, jax or that badly played malady twitch everybody was feeding and they can't do shit in the teamfights. your dmg output is ennough to take them out. your aoe dmg is also really good with ult, sunfire and SF. in team fights they should focus fire you and that is exactly what you want as a tank. all in all a fun lad. a skill stay useful through the game and probably the second best tank in the game. only shen is prolly more powerful but i just hate him. *EDIT* On June 09 2010 01:58 Baxter wrote: With Nasus, what you want to do is itemize to optimize (:D) your Siphoning Strike Ability, Trinity force is a must have item when it comes to increasing your dps. (it was quite fun reading, however) It was, and it was such good memories I'm gonna hafta find a way to stick into the first page somehow. Edit: I stuck it in the newbie FAQ. Nasus is actually a bad "tank" because he won't really stop people from killing off his team. He's a fabulous melee DPS though, and it's why I said if I were to recommend a melee carry to someone Nasus would be the pick.

You're getting 9 hp per attack. That's hardly going to do anything. It's also why the lifesteal effect of Doran's Blade is negligible unless you can stack multiple blades, and even then you're not going to be gaining much from the actual lifesteal. I might be having a different version of what crappy or not crappy stats is, but 9HP each hit makes the difference, say the alternative is a health ruby, thats 20 hits and that early game adv is neglected.

The only hero you could even remotely argue getting lifesteal for is Tristana, because she has huge range, frequently attacks out of necessity anyways (because she has to farm), and has a quick attack animation. One of her core items is also usually Bloodthirster, which is one of her first items, so it "makes sense" as it doesn't hold you back. Getting lifesteal on melee heroes is stupid because you'll go into get 9 hp back and take 70 damage. You're significantly better off buying Regrowth Pendant if you REALLY care, or Doran's Shield (the preferred survival opening on many heroes), or doing something like Fortitude or Boots + Mass Potions. Edit: The other, understated (though most understood) issue with opening lifesteal is that in order to gain from it you need to autoattack, which pushes creep, which is hugely detrimental particularly if you're in such a state that you need to be getting back HP. As some people saw yesterday, I was Kat vs Trist (admittedly in a smurf game, as no Trist at my level opens Vamp, esp. against a Kat), and he pushed creep -> loses exp cuz I just sit there waiting for him to get into my range.
