So can Vladimir, know what they both can't do? Last until 6.
You don't need to have laning power after 6 since junglers are ganking then and map objectives are more important

Yea he's not as strong as he is at lvl 7 but he can turtle easily and clear waves with e. I haven't played much of Swain but I doubt he has too many problems hitting 6. Most games solo's will be ricing for about 12 levels so Swain has crazy creep scores.

Phr0st where did you go that game your team won because we all sucked/trolled/afk'd at the same time
|
Hey guys, I'm pretty new to jungling, and was looking for tips on dealing with another jungler?
I've jungled ww, Olaf, and Amumu so far, and olaf is probably my fav, but I always choke going up against another jungle.
For example, he took my golems, and red and I had no idea, and got destroyed at his red since mine were gone. I assume warding would have been a good idea, but I couldn't afford it so early.
Any advice would be awesome.

that game was just weird. Yiruru kept dissapearing but then comes back not underleveled so i was like....is he afk or not ._.

Honestly we can't teach you how to jungle, it's a feel thing that you will learn by yourself. Check the score screen to see how many creeps he has killed to get an idea of his route. Know what routes certain junglers can take, like yi starting at wraiths or amumu starting at blue buff/small golems. You just have to learn where people start and what their timings are and where you can exploit them and how you can catch them trying to exploit you. Wards aren't even that necessary they just really, really help. I ward less often in only key places the more I know about this game because honestly if the game isn't one-sided you should be able to play that poker game with your opponent. My advice? Don't be focused on the buffs. They're huge targets that make you vulnerable and don't give you too much gold per time invested killing. If you're sure where they are and know they can't risk taking your buffs just keep running the small ones until you can safely take the buffs, and try to maximize their potential, i.e. red buff for ganks, blue buff for running all the small camps, etc.
Make sure to vision ward dragon if they ward there though, worth it every time.

Late-game, what would be better: Abyssal Sceptre or Zhonya's? I'm just learning Galio, but I've found Guardian Angel is incredibly good on him. Otherwise, you run the risk of your ult killing you. Having two lives makes them less likely to attack you (defeating the purpose of you being the tank) and unless you are on some very specific team combos you need to be able to tank for longer then the duration of your ult more often then not. That being said, if you are getting killed during your ult then you need to reconsider how you are building him or when you are using it
There was this huge debate near the beginning of this thread about someone saying tanks shouldn't get banshee's veil cause then they won't use spells on you. Really it comes down to this... your never SUPPOSED to be nuked down/ccd/focused, of course auto attacks and maybe a snare when your out of position is an exception... but really, in my 1300-1500 games most people will focus a tank initiating their team, it's fun to just ace people as a carry in that case..., if your galio your one of the most durable on the team.. they aren't supposed to attack you..If you HAVE to be attacked to be considered a tank, play akali or evelynn, and don't get any survival, then your gonna catch all the cc and nukes.. but your also gonna insta die and be useless. Most tanks need to be in the middle of things to be effective and your gonna catch AOE damage etc... Also Galio can FORCE them to all attack him, so there is a good reason for GA... you dive in, take a ton of damage, ult, take more damage, then revive.. hopefully during this time your team has aced them.
To be fair, I haven't been getting GA nearly as much since the nerf, I used to get that thing every game.. especially for really long games. Merc Treads and Banshees i can say that I get on so many heroes , pretty op items right there

I thought what makes you a tank is the fact that you can either force them to fire on you or you have hard cc.
But either way, shouldn't they not attack you either way?

Technically the "ideal" player would never focus a tank, but most tanks worth their salt have a few of the following things: Initiation Abilities, High Damage Output, Hard CC, Their Name is Singed.
Many tanks want BV because it helps them accomplish what generates their threat (Galio's taunt, Nunu's ult, etc.) and lets them eat one more CC before getting actually CC'd. Technically speaking, your carries should have one as well so you having one doesn't effect your threat anyways since its being wasted no matter who they target.
My view is simple: If you are the tank you never buy GA if your carry doesn't have one. Some tanks the same can be said for BV but in general the other benefits from BV are too good to pass up.
Also, yes, if you want to tank you should play Evelynn - because She is the best taunt in the game. Period.

just to throw my 2 cents out there
you have to focus a tank sometimes as a ranged, if the team fight is in equal positioning a tristana or ezreal can't go focus the other teams ranged carry or even support, it's impossible. so you have to kill the tank to do any damage. some people say things like "omg focus carry" when you go into a team fight, but realistically it's really hard. a good ranged carry will make you decide between getting kited and getting pounded by the entire team or gett blasted by the carry.
tanks are going to get hit sometimes and that's the nature of things, and all decent tanks have some sort of hard cc or get in your face move.
onto bv, i think it's quite an amazing item. you see a ton of high elo teams just get 5 of those things and lol and you waste all your abilities, tanks don't want to be cc'd either so it's fine on them.

So why does the other team ALWAYS have higher elo than mine. It's always around 200 elo too, and I lose the same as I win. Whatever determines who is on your team is retarded.

no idea, but all i know is this, the current match making system will never be able to accurately places anyone in the right ELO bracket for solo/duo Q's. unless they could devise some way to measure our actual skill and quality (not as simple as K/D/A ratio) in game, some newbies will always get lucky and gets carried by a more competent team mate, and be elevated to an ELO range that isn't where they should have been. using a matchmaking system that is meant to measure a single players skill in a team based game is pretty retarded. but not like there's any other better measuring system now is there?

He doesn't score a lot of kills, but attacking him before his allies are down is usually a waste (assuming he builds AP/Tank hybrid), and he gets stronger as both teams suffer casualties. Maybe he is a bit weak during the first 5 levels, but honestly, that's not a big deal. Not every single new champ has to dominate the lane.

The system does work, but the time required to sort out all the lucky newbs is immense. There probably are still a few tweaks possible to speed the process up, but you certainly can't achieve the same speed as SC2 1v1 matchmaking. There is no reliable way to automatically rate the performance of single players in this game so you can only go by team performance.

I'm starting to add total elo, and I'm assuming that it uses a +-200 elo for team comparisons. It shouldn't be that, it should be as close to 0, because they don't have any quantitative easing where you get more elo for beating a "better" team and less for losing to a "better" team. Get an extremely powerful comp, get as much elo as winning as the underdog. Absolutely retarded.

i just went 25/3 with galio and was told by our 0-28 soraka that i lost us the whole game. there were 2 occasions when i ran and he called me "GALIO BIG PUSSY KINGSTORK = KINGPUSSY"
1. soraka with half health, I have 100 hp and no mana and i run from their fed full health gangplank with lizard buff, their half health amumu with both buffs, and their udyr in bear stance charging straight for me
2. half health no mana soraka and olaf with half health run straight ahead to fight all 5 of them, i run in a separate direction, their entire team was almost full health
what do i even say to someone like that? it really bothers me that this person might think that I was actually the worst player on the team despite them feeding gankplank to 11 kills in the laning phase and the fact that i almost carried us to victory with 2 triple kills and several aces
UGH
