I just played and won a game with Kassadin where I went Catalyst -> Sorc -> Quicksilver.
*shrugs*

The build I have had most success with is to get 2 sunfires first. Sorc boots somewhere when you feel like getting it. Rylais, Abyssal and Zhonyas after that.
It's somewhat low on mana, and you could swap a Sunfire or Abyssal for a Banshees instead. But I've had most success with this.

I've never been in a poppy/blitz lane that didn't leave with atleast 4 kills. Galio thought he could get away without taking a dorans item, and had no flat hp quints (because he had sona?). When I hit level two, he got unlucky enough to be caught by blitz and died instantly. I pressed E>Q and he was dead before I could ignite him (which would have been overkill had I gotten it off). Xin left when we were taking an inhib at 14 minutes (and apparently complained to his team about how bad I was because we were on the same team the game before). I should find someone to duo with that plays blitz, he makes the most fun laning ever.

I started playing poppy because of southlight saying he did well in WCG I think it was. Poppy is really damn good, I'm surprised more people don't play her. I should write an AD and AP guide for her (but then more people might pick her and I can't play her  ).

It´s never just 2000 HP however. The fights that actually count Amumu cries on the whole team AND no one has 2000 HP even as base lategame. Amumu does reasonable damage because everything is AOE and has effectivly no CD at that stage in the game.
On top of that, what Marks would you get instead? The both Penetration types are the only good ones outside of superspecialized ones like attackspeed for Warwick.
