Developed by Guinsoo, the creator of DotA, League of Legends is a great game for those who enjoyed DotA. The game currently has over 50 champions (characters to play as) and more are being introduced on a weekly basis. The artwork is unique and appealing, and the game itself is also very interesting and fun to play. Then it became very popular after Guinsoo passed it to IceFrog. It should also be noted that IceFrog approves of HoN. To clear up a few things. LoL is probably too mainstream for this thread, its at the top of most played multiplayer pc games lists. As far as I know there was no passing the torch from Eul to Guinsoo, Eul disappeared into anonymity at The Frozen Throne release and Guinsoo created All-Stars by liberally using stuff from DotA. IceFrog doesn't just approve HoN, he works/worked for S2, see Pendragon letter on http://www.dota-allstars.com/index.html.
I don't believe IceFrog was officially employed by S2 at that point. He's certainly not anymore. He works for Valve now. I didn't really follow the massive drama on the 'official' forums surrounded the departure of IceFrog but it's sad to see the site go down forever.

The Harvest
Type: Defense RTS Setting: Space Languages: English, French, Dutch, German, Swedish, Korean and Portuguese (Brazil) Single Player Only Available Platforms: Windows and Mac, don't know about any others. System Requirements: Low
![[image loading]](http://www.oxeyegames.com/harvest/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/cellbase.jpg)
This is a Defense RTS where you try to survive against increasing amounts of enemies. The full game is not free, but the demo is big enough that it warrants mentioning. It gives you access to all game modes with limited types of enemies and levels. It's notable because of its resource system that's somewhat comparable to Netstorm (mentioned above). If I remember correctly Survival mode keeps expanding the map so you have to keep expanding yourself in order to survive.

Yeah I just played through chapter one myself (I think I'm almost done)
Pretty good. It's pretty much Dragon Warrior 3 with a final fantasy combat interface. Kind of dislike how everyone's turn happens at the same time, yours and the enemies. So it's a huge rush to get your actions out, then you stare at screen for 15 seconds. -.-

Facade
Type: Amusing social experiment / interactive storytelling Setting: Modern Languages: English Single Player Only Available Platforms: Windows and Mac
![[image loading]](http://www.interactivestory.net/facade%20screencap.jpg)
An interactive story type game where you have to help those two ^, your good friends, save their marriage. You can walk around, have limited interaction with the characters and objects (you can hug them, kiss them, pick up stuff...) and chat/respond to them by typing your responses.
Façade puts the player in the role of a close friend of Grace and Trip, a couple who recently invited the player to their home for cocktails. This pleasant gathering, however, is somewhat damaged by the clear domestic confrontation between Grace and Trip upon the player's entry. Making full use of the incorporated language processing software, the game allows the player to type sentences to "speak" with the couple, either supporting them through their troubles, driving them farther apart, or being thrown out of the apartment.
Incorporating elements of both video gaming and drama, Façade takes advantage of voice acting and a 3-D environment, as well as natural language processing and other advanced artificial intelligence routines, to provide a robust interactive fiction experience. The player can take an active role in the conversation, pushing the topic one way or another, as in an interactive stage-play. These stage-plays are stored as script text files which can be read after the game is finished.
About 1GB in size (iirc) due to having a huge set of audio for the two characters for a whole bunch of different scenarios.
And it's really hard to win . Certain events in the game are always randomized so there are no shortcuts either.

For me Both Enters, Space, and Z are all like the A button or action button. X C V B and probably more are the back button. Shift lets you check underfoot. And there's that 0 opens all chests thing. Arrow keys are movement, although I think there's like a HJKL movement scheme too.. it's weird.
Chapter 4 now! I played this all day yesterday

Ugh thats weird. I downloaded the RPG RTP, installed it. Then downloaded the game and ran the RPG_RT application. Menu comes up, but no keyboard commands work for me except F4, Alt, and Insert 0_0. Cant figure what I'm doing wrong

Download RPG maker 2003.. I got it form the first link when I googled it. Then download the game. Then fix fonts (read the readme from the rpgmaker thing for that) if you have to. Then just double click the Hero's Realm thing.. :s
There is two RPG_RT icons. Make sure your selecting the .exe one? idk

Mine flickers once in awhile too.
Not constantly though.
you get it working pokey?

No, I've tried downloading RPG Maker 2003 from different places. RPG Maker 2003 RTP from different places. Hero's Realm 1.5 from different places. Same problem. I click on RPG_RT Application, (934 KB). Game pops up and brings me to menu. I can get all the way to where you choose the guy's name, but keyboard controls dont work.
I'll go home today and see if it works on my main desktop :/
