Hah you and everyone else online. Its pretty rare to play teams without Dante in them. Hes starting to drive me crazy you get hit once and you can get a snack while he does his 100hit combo that takes 5 min. It does look awesome though haha.

Its sooo bad T.T
Ive never been particularly skilled at fighting games because I havent trained the finger control needed to pull off the good combos. But MvC3 is so easy that I can win most of the time even against my training buddy that I dont usually beat ever. I win online fights against clearly more skilled players because of a lucky assist punish or a single xfactor combo or just using Sentinel...
Also I really expected more from a series comeback title. Its guaranteed enough sales to have any kind of budget needed. And gamers will bitch and complain all day but a company can take as much time as they want making a game.
My biggest issues was the character selection. There arent as many as I would have hoped for(Im not counting and dlc chatacters we will have to buy in the future) and of the ones we have only about 6 are regularly seen online. The characters are very similar in play style. I dont feel the characters I play. I have seen more turtling and projectile spam in the first week of this game than I have in my entire fighting game career.
Its a very well made game and nothing seems incomplete it just feels kinda lacking. Im still going to play and see how the game evolves for now but Im already let down. Its got a long way to go before Ill be excited to get on when I get home.
Edit: MvC2 online is not a part of my fighter career.

anyone wana play ? im about to get on. PSN: PRimemover21

Does everyone not like getting the same guns? edit- ok noob tubes I think xfactor and everyone having low hp makes the game easier to balance. map spawn points have alot to do with balance in fps imo
i remember in CoD1 if you spawned in a bad position on some maps it was downright unwinnable(good teams could abuse the system to spawn lock you in one spot and win the game doing it)

I kinda wonder when you say stuff like this. Did you actually play marvel 2? You talk as though its a letdown compared to that game, but the "projectile spam" was 10x more hardcore in that game than marvel 3.
Not every strategy revolves around trijumping, wavedashing, and rushing that shit down; nor should they. Justin Wong was the best Marvel 2 player by a large margin because he could block.

Even in counterstrike, maps are T or CT favored many times, but the format of 15 round halves and knife rounds to decide who gets to start on which side first fix that. Can't really do that in a fighting game though lol

I should have said that Ive never played MvC2 online. I was too late getting into fighters to play online on dreamcast and havent tried on PSN or Xbox Live.
Also I would say there is a difference between using block and turtling.

Difference being that the guy who "turtles" wins, right? xPP
When I've got a sizable lead, I'm gonna run. When my opponent gets a character like phoenix out, I put on my nikes and run even more. And when somebody's got lvl 3 xfactor sentinel, I'm puttin on my pink shirt and runnin 5k for the cure.
When you get a lead in Starcraft do you just go for the instant kill every time? No, you take map control and increase your lead. No difference here.

Usain Bolt is a bad comparison he only runs for 20 seconds =p
|
runaway and playing the zone is just as legit as playing rushdown in this game.

Damn, you're right. Lemme edit that.
Curse the lack of noteworthy marathon runners =((

^ doesnt he run the 4 though? so that's gotta be like 43~46 seconds
and lol blocking is something you do while turtling is generally a playstyle.
|
with maybe the exception of vs trish and phoenix, getting turtled is your own damn fault.

The guy who turtles eventually loses to chip damages lol
Running is a required tactic in this one. Xfactor is such a powerful gamechanger you run or die.

I often times find myself doing well when playing against x factor (sometimes) in that i take advantage of the opponents over eagerness to attack, and catch them off guard with a meaty hit, say Taskmasters medium. Most people never see the counter offensive coming, however you have to be very careful, for obvious reasons.

The guy who turtles is the one who figures out where to push, how to triangle jump and how to kill your character in the process. The guy using block is the one that gets chipped out.
X Factor is rediculous and actually punishes you for keeping your whole team alive... Interesting concept to implement in a vs game. The important part to dealing with it is that you establish that you are going to run, then people have to commit to an offensive scheme you can counter. If you simply try to poke at them when they push the first time I would bet it would have a much lower success then after you run for a bit and then try to poke them.

i think a ban/pick phase would help a lot in the competitive scene. it would force players to be more well-rounded and see more creative and interesting combos other than the usual type S.

This isn't DotA, get out of here with that. lol
