You would think that if someone was going to pay her to be present, that they might expect her to know something (re: anything) about what was being discussed. Boobs >>> knowledge and skills. + Show Spoiler + I kid, of course. Please don't generalize. It could well be a guy there.

You get a diplomacy bonus for doing it. You can see what your relations are and the reasons for them when you mouse over the diplomacy status (Friendly/guarded/etc) in the diplomacy/trade screen with a given leader. Frankly, it almost is never worth it to return workers or settlers. Hobbling the AI and gaining workers from captured workers/settlers is basically always the better option -- especially in the early game.

When you do that, you will get a diplomatic bonus - the AI will like you more, basically. It does have some impact on the game, but often not immediately obvious. Furthermore, as far as I know, diplomatic bonuses (as well as penalties) decay as time goes on, so if you saved Alex's worker on turn 50, he may still denounce you 100 turns later.

If it belonged to a CS, you are guaranteed a friendship and usually even get allied. This may boost your empire a lot more than the hammers for a single worker.

That Lady Gaga segway was cringe-worthy. You can tell Ed just wants to talk about the game

Dev 1: Hey what can we add that is new but doesn't require any out of the box thinking and wouldn't piss off the UI programmers? Dev 2: Does it have to be somewhat realistic? Dev 1: No. Dev 2: Tourism. All the UI team have to do is get rid of the advisers button which nobody uses and copy the font, and color of the faith icons and rename it tourism and treat it like mini golden ages. Then slap a half finished panel stolen from the buildings UI and tada! Dev 1: Fuck yeah! Dev 2: Fuck yeah! Also Brazil's UU is a WW2 soldier... Eh?

Yes but the World Congress makes it sound like something where the AI can just change the rules at a whim. Like, HEY TRADE EMBARGO ON YOU! =( Don't worry Firaxis would never develop a functioning, let alone half-ass one, AI.

You don't exactly want to be at war that often with a more technologically advanced civ to take advantage of that ability. My thoughts. It's going to be better the higher the difficulty is. In multiplayer it might turn out really good, because early aggression will pay off even more than usual.
