Those civs should have been added with the Ancient Wonders DLC all they had to do was pick and animate a leader and then add a UU etc. But instead they put recycled existing leaders in and that was it.

trade routes sound like supply crawlers from alpha centauri, but instead of moving stuff from a tile to a city they move stuff from a city to a city? also sounds like they'll be restricted in the same way spies currently are

i always liked the amount of stuff you could do with supply crawlers in alpha, so kind of excited for that. the other stuff doesn't sound so hot though, adding tourism and these archeologists make it seem like there is going to be so many things cluttered around that don't really add much. similar to how i feel about spies atm, religion was implemented well but spies are pretty lackluster imo

I'm guessing that trade routes will work mechanically the same way that espionage does. You'll open up a trade menu where you assign trade routes to your various merchants. I suspect that "trade rights" will probably be a new thing that you can negotiate with foreign leaders as well.

My guess would be location dependent. Caught in between city/cs alliance would mean right to trade routes. Additions are good but they really have to improve the AI. Putting another stuffs require another AI programming and may lead to disaster. On the other hand, Im expecting a more enriched expansion. BNW lacks on what I expect... with the assumption of another "money".

I wonder if we can implement international trade routes to City States seeing how they have unique resources which nobody has access to unless they zerg them with gold. That and could it build up influence as a result.

So Brazil is confirmed alongside Assyria and Poland from PAX East. Their leader is Pedro II and they are two shades of Green. I couldn't quite see what their logo is but maybe someone else has noticed.

It's replacing a worthless unit with a semi-useful unit as I see it. It's not like anyone who plays Polish will use it though, that's a cultural/science victory civ.

So unless there is more DLC's with civs etc. or another expac then Sumer, and Swahili are off the list as they have been spotted as City States. Portugal is on the edge with Brazil's coat of arms, and Indonesia is a rumor.

So the advisers are gone it seems, at least on the UI. With the Publeo council refusing Firaxis the chance to add them in the game it is being speculated that there is another Native American civ coming.

Too bad we can't actually asign advisers to certain positions i.e. Slots like in Total War and Victoria II.

Brazil is probably broken for cultural victory. The double tourism during golden age means you will be progressing your cultural victory twice as fast so long as you are in a golden age.

However, I suspect religion will play a heavy role in tourism as well (think about the hajj in real life).

One awkward thing is that it seems that there will be a lot more trading going on and gold will be more scarce. I wonder if waging wars will be as practical as it is now on GaK.

Sounds like stocking gold from every possible source to fund everything from military to new cities or whatever will be less convenient.
