U can tweak the C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5

UserSettings.ini by changing SkipIntroVideo = 0 to 1.

But you'll still have to wait for the game to load (that's why the video skip around the part when the young dude leaves the tent or sooner).

The game isn't really that hard or complicated tbh if you can figure out starcraft you can figure out the basics of CIV, there are a few things that you can learn on the way but its like that with any strategy game because if you have everything on the first layer of learning then it becomes a much harder game to comprehend, there is a demo for it on, steam try that out before anything.

There are about 25000 unique hits a day on the game. I'm not serious enough to put mass hours into the multiplayer so I can't really say much about it, from what I've experienced the online is a bit random because of where you can start what you're close to, ect, but there are a lot of maps and I'm sure there are a few balanced for multiplayer. The DLC as stated is just extra Civ's they didn't include in the box/download version, dlc includes the following civs; Spain, Inca, Polynesian and Danish. Each I believe have a few scenario's but you'll have to look into that.

It's not a bug, it's just an annoying way of doing things. The game is loading in the background and you can skip the rest of the intro after it's loaded, there's just no bar visible. Apparently a static screen with a loading bar is preferable to most people, even though it's functionally the same.

I downloaded the game a long time ago, but never really gave it a shot:/ I played tons of Civ 4, casually so, but still enjoyed it. Maybe I need some structure to enjoy Civ 5, any suggestions?

Just curious if anyone with some programming background or just experience in design would care to expl why cIv is still plagued with the horrendous AI/diplomacy versus computers.. It drives me nuts.. and I really don't want to play/w players just due to time constraints + scheduling etc.
Try hard or don't try at all.

I never thought they'd add wonders as dlc, seems like a very poor value proposition. They've added things more substantial than that in the free updates. Plus, building wonders is pretty situational anyway. Oh well, I just won't buy that dlc. I'll probably pick up the Koreans eventually, as I like trying out new civs.
It's easier not to.

I've had my training on time consuming games with WoW...So I don't think it'll be a problem

Man, I've forgot how Civ was. The last I played was Civ 2 and I was like a kid, I didn't get how it was played, so I'm almost clueless on how to play. I hope I can learn fast. I used to play MOO2 afterall, man that game rocks. I wish it was on Steam.

Hey if anyone has done some modding to the GameTime i have written some rule modifikations.
Overall it just changes the research and Kulture speed ( takes doubles as normal)
Whille leaving units at 100% produktion cost (wich is the setting for Standart game speed)

So if you have a long game Units are longer up to date and easy to produce.
While Buildings and Improvements for fields takes much longer.
As well as the grow of citys and building of settlers.

I bought the game, but for some reason I can't see the hexagons. The terrain is fine and I can move around, but there are no hexagons. Is this a bug?

Playting this game is amazing!
But I'm playing multiplayer, but I don't know how to increase the difficulty of the AI in the game.

There's only Prince, Settler, Emperor, etc. for me, but not for the AI.

Its a toggle, look at the buttons near the minimap.

Also, does the barracks give continuously 15% or only what's out on the field right now.
Lastly, when I get legalism, which gives me free monuments for my first 4 cities, does it do it when I get the four cities or at one time (so if I have one city, it will only give me one monument, even if I get three more cities later).

Only if you build a unit in this city u get the XP its not % its a instand bonus for fresh units (15XP)
