I've already partaked in that shen / yi strat and the only good legit combo is the Fiddle / Shen . If you build him as a tank he is very effective. I've been coming up with build orders for tank yi and it seems to do the job. The only damage items I've been getting is 1 blood thirsters. The rest of the items are Magic Tread Boots / Thorn Mail / Sun Fire Cape / Gaurdian Angel / Frozen Mallet. I did have Leviathan in that but since they nerfed that item I replaced it with Gaurdian Angel. In case you die in that team fight.(not the order I build it but in general of the item build. Once they realize you're not a DPS yi, they'll just ignore you during teamfights. That one sunfire cape isn't going to make you a threat. The single tank item I considered was randuin's omen because: A) wardens mail is surprisingly potent on yi since hes a squishy melee hero; lets him get up close against kiters, even without his ult. He's pretty much going to be targeted by everyone, so the slow effect will get its money's worth. B) His meditation gives 300 armor and 300 resist = 3 bonus seconds of slow. Add to that mercs, randuin's bonus armor, and his default stats, and you basically have a 5 second AoE attackspeed/movement slow on a 1-minute cooldown. I don't play yi so I don't know whether this works, but it sounds pretty sick. I imagine he could alpha strike into combat, pop up meditation/slow and eat up damage/CC, then cleanse/ulti/flash out of the fight, let your teammate do some damage & pick up assists to refresh your highlander cooldown, and then use it for cleanup. | ||

It is nice to have someone capable of punishing Nid for being a tard though, as most of the time Nid can get away with anything she wants between self healing, cougar move buff, passive move buff and pounce. | ||
