I think Kat is probably viable at the higher levels, but it's not in a carrying capacity. I played against a Kat that went 5-0 in the first 10 minutes in a practice game... yesterday, I think? At low Elos when everyone's spamming crap like Mundo, Trynd and Yi (ie. no disable) or people panic and run as soon as Kat shows up, you can output hefty damage. At middle Elos when you keep running into teams with like 5+ disables, you're not going to do jack. If you want a pointblank AoE spelldamage hero you're better off playing either Karthus (who's gotten crazy annoying with Zhonya) or Fiddle. Also with those two you won't have random targeting, targeting limits, nor the issue of being disabled during ult and being useless for the next minute. Not to mention Kat's damage output isn't even that high ;/
Ooh gimped hero. I CANT USE HER THEN NOBODY CAN. Really, I was laning with a really good morgana and even though we got FB'd we pwn em 4-0 afterwards

Depends on the lanes ;p I see some pretty aggressive combat in lanes a lot of times, when both lanes feel they can kill the other. And I'm talking about 5v5 premade which leads to vs top-200-300s (top 100s in the December list, I'm gonna give benefit of the doubt and assume they're still somewhere in the top 300). Definitely don't see chain killing happening though; if someone dies they usually play as safe as possible, at the expense of gold/exp.

Hey, hey, Eve is decent at that Elo bracket, I think. :p Especially when stuck with lots of solo queue - no one wants to buy Oracle, and no one buys Wards.

I don't think he's unviable, but he requires a team that has a good number of disables to keep certain characters off of him. You also have to be aware that his invisibility isn't going to help much - but his ult is still one of the most gamebreaking.

When I was watching TakashiX last night, the two champs he played were Twitch and Kat. So "not viable in our ELO bracket" elitists can be safely ignored.
On another note: why do people suddenly buy haunting guise? What am I missing? If a good nuker blows all their skills, they're lucky to do 2K damage (Annie with 400 AP, for example, will NOT do 2k). This translates to, at a maximum, 200 life regened. Is the theory that this allows nukers to leave battle and heal by farming? Maybe I just haven't seen the thing used correctly...

I can't tell if you're trolling or just plain stupid. You don't know your ELO bracket unless you go to the mIRC channel and ask for it, or you can just estimate it by playing games with people who are known top 500 players. Also you should assume that you need around 300+ wins with a 60% winrate to be in the "high ELO" bracket. 200+ with 60% or 300+ with 50-55% gets you into the "good ELO" bracket and anything under that is "Feeders and noobs".
For example, I know that you're in the "feeders and noobs" bracket by how you talk about how win/loss doesn't matter.
