But regardless, some of you guys are downplaying Sivir a tad. She is a dps carry by all means, she just requires a little more farming than your typical true carries (Trist, Corki, etc).

Chalice is highly recommended because of BB. BB with something like a Bloodthirster will rape in a team fight.

I'm not downplaying her effect mid-late-game, but her early-game got destroyed by the range nerf, as she is no longer really viable in a solo lane. And in a partner lane, razing creepwaves is bad unless you're doing a pushing lane with a hero that doesn't require farm (ie. Alistar), otherwise razing creepwaves = your lane partner gets no moolah.

One of the keys with Sivir (and something I'm not sure gets enough attention) is that BB usage needs to oscillate based on the parity of your level. At levels 3, 5, 7, and 9 you should be using it a lot, while at 2, 4, 6, and 8 you should be using it very little (at level 1 you want to use it at least once so your mana regen is buying you something, but not much more than that). This can be the difference between getting completely outharassed by Nid/Ez/Ashe and holding your own (or taking the lane). The other key is spellshield -- I actually think spellshield timing is the #1 skill involved in playing Sivir.

That said, I'm not sure I'd say Sivir is a viable hard carry. She's often the other team's FF, but she won't win 2v1s the way other carries can.

this is also highly overrated. yes it requires a lot of skill to get the timing down right but honestly its also a lot easier to counter it. a lot of spells are instant as soon as you're in range (or quick enough that you cant reasonably react in time) so you can just mess with the sivir's mind as much as you want. as kat i occasionally start running toward the sivir, force the spell shield, and just back off. or if she doesn't pop spell shield then i just stay in range and find an opportunity to do my usual shunpo+BB burst.

IMO sivir suffers from rolelessness early game. if she makes it into the late game having farmed well then she becomes a pushing monster. but i feel like more often then not she has to play catchup, something that can be avoided if she just went to the side lanes but that is bad for an entirely independent reason.

Hahah, I also wouldn't play Teemo solo mid unless your team needs a solo mid and you just don't want to blow it - he'll beat 80% of solo mid characters out there.

I have to say, this thread is really taking off, hopefully we can keep up the good strategy related posts instead of all the shitposting that goes on in the hon/dota thread.

On that note I have nothing to say haha

He looks pretty damn good to me, he can spam his skills as much as he wants since he doesn't have any form of mana or energy related to casting spells and his regen looks insane. He'll be able to stay in lane forever!

Karthus ult? It's DoT, the lower health they are, the more damage it does... And he's anti-slow because that's a melee champs main weakness, they can't get into and out of battles effectively, which is why ranged carries are preferred in almost every case

Hmmmm, bringing back the Sivir topic - what if you gave her lane partner that requires very little items - especially Allistar? We all know that Sivir+Alli is deadly pushing combo and Sivir can get all the gold she wants in this setup... I think i'll try this ;p

Garen looks awesome to me, i was very sceptical about shen and kennen but garen already has my love

Speaking of streams - when you are bored it is always good idea to watch Messiah's stream (or browse his on demand, but i think that you can't access it through zeroboy so you have to change tv.zeroboy.net part to livestream.com)
Ofc this is not the only stream out there - but it's the only one i'm watching

The stream froze for me before I could see it in action. The way he talked about it made it sound like it hit everyone on the other team for X + Y, where X is constant and Y is based on their missing HP. If it's more like Morde (throw it on one enemy champ, it hits them based on how low they are) it's much worse, especially if its range isn't high.
