I'd have wished PP to win, I don't get why his Marth worked so well. Armada's supposed to never lose to Marths. I also don't think Falco vs Peach is a bad matchup so I guess he just didn't know it too well(Didn't see his games vs Armada so tough to say).
It also is pretty sad that most people still don't space properly against crouch cancel possibilities. It's as if that aspect hasn't evolved at all in 4 years.
PP definitely knows how to play Armada's Peach with Falco. He went to Europe for a tourney recently (forgot which one) and ended up with the same result as Apex 2013. He got bumped to losers by Armada then reset the bracket in GF but lost the 2nd set.
Armada's consistency is a testament to how well he adapts. I don't think he played a lot vs PP's Marth which is why he had more trouble with it than PP's Falco.

I used to play it all the time with my friends. I was great with Marth. Never really got into brawl the same way, it felt too clunky and messy. They got rid of most of the things that made melee good. They also slowed the game down massively.
Ya, it definitely felt like they were trying to make it too casual friendly. I also hated the Final Smash thing.

I just wanted to say that the APEX Brawl finals between M2K and the Samus player was insanely entertaining to watch, even as someone who doesn't usually like to watch Melee (and to a further extent Brawl).

To be fair, in competitive Brawl there are no items, so Final Smashes are limited to King DDD's thrown items lolol.
What bugs me about Brawl is (1) how slow it is, (2) how much easier it is to recover, and (3) tripping (seriously????)

To be a bit more fair, in SSBB you turn off all items AND decrease their frequency to 0, so not even King DDD can throw random items. :3

whoa, I actually didn't realize that--in Melee, Peach can still pull beam swords

It's cool to see the smash scene still going with a lot of the guys. As a puff/peach player I'm always happy to see mango and armada is just wrecking it, ever since he first came on to the scene.
Does anyone rep Ice Climbers anymore?

All I gotta say is... Project M

In a team match (Scar and... lozr? vs Leffen and Ice), Scar lost a life and mashed start, thinking it was his last and wanting to steal a life as soon as possible. He still had a life, though, so he accidentally paused. When he unpaused as though to continue playing the set, Leffen paused and called for the rules. The ruleset for the tournament had an explicit stipulation for this occurrence: the opposing team may deem one stock of the offending player forfeit. Leffen claimed that right, and Scar had to throw away his last stock. The crowd made loud angry boos when Leffen and Ice won the match. The commentators basically agreed that the correct decision was made on the grounds that the rules are there to be followed. One complicating factor of note is that the vast majority of team tournaments have pause turned OFF in the options, so that this kind of thing can't happen at all. In this tournament, the pause is on as a safeguard against equipment malfunction or an actual emergency, so that the state of the set can be maintained while technical issues are resolved. It's still an open question for future tournaments whether to enable pause or not.
What a bitch move.

Don't know how many of yall are interested, but Melee is pretty much confirmed for Evo 2013. Hope to see a few of yall there

Was pretty much clear after yesterday's stream where some people said how much they would donate. Doubt any other game(candidates on the list) has such a backing from their community.

Mango doesn't really play Puff anymore, except in a few 2v2s vs Hungrybox, the current best Puff main (and Mango sometimes does decently in said matchups). Mango sticks mostly to Falco/Fox, sometimes Falcon/Mario.
The best ICs players right now are probably Wobbles, Fly Amanita, Chu Dat (I think he's inactive though), and Nintendude.

Yup, Armada is finaly done with it. Stilll hope he continues to go to swedish parties, always a blast teaming on mario party lol

I really don't see anything wrong with that, as usual. Would probably have done the same. I assume a professional player would know how to check the amount of stocks he has remaining. It's something you complain about to the tournament organizers and people who made the rules, not the people who want to follow them.
Also does anyone know about the Fox vs Jigglypuff matchup? Stay midscreen, spam lazers, spam shine whenever possible? Anything specific about avoiding CCC or about what to do about pillar bairs that either barely whiff or hit my shield? It has such a slow startup something should be possible...
About Armada quitting, that's a bit weird. I'd have just stopped practicing for 1 huor a day(How on earth does he find things to improve upon with Peach that requires so long every day, anyway? It's not like he even does frameperfect stuff in tournament games so i really have no idea how he's using that hour) but still attended singles / tournaments, of course without traveling too much either. Could've also tried a character switch.

Hmm, but ICs are a pretty weird character: you have to manage both of them, you have to have the chaingrab timing down (and make Nana do stuff during the grab), etc.

Watch Mango vs. puff? :D Up smash kills at medium %s, as does uair (I think? Fox can uthrow -> uair puff at certain percents.)
Also make sure to DI Puff's upthrows far to the side so you don't get upthrow->rested

Most of the chaingrab tricks are known or learned by some point or another by players who are good and if they are strong enough they rarely forget them
Wobbles will forever be the guy who wobbled people though haha
I still do that infinite on people sometimes lol

Oh mah god, some of these guys are epic. If only stupid ass Brawl had never come along and fucked the community and the scene. Armada was pro. What happened to M2k?
Wow ok checking out the apex finals. Such amazing play, the grabbing, tilting and versatility of directional air attacks is awesome to watch in the modern smash game.

Hey everybody! Seems like we're only in second place for the last EVO spot now... If you want to help support smash and you want to see it at EVO, chip in with 5$ or more, to show that it has a large backing. We should have a huge following, at least bigger than our competitor skullgirls. Here is a Facebook group for a Podcast that is organizing donations: https://www.facebook.com/groups/317678078333267/?notif_t=group_r2j_approved And here are the Donation Links: http://shoryuken.com/2013/01/08/evo-2013-details-game-lineup-get-your-game-to-evo-and-road-to-evo-events/ While donating for the game of your choice, all the donations go towards breast-cancer research, so you're doing a good thing while waisting your money for videogames! Show your support and give Smash a chance to enhance its audience!
edit: It seems like Mango is still eager to go to europe and M2K is thirsting for one last match against Armada, so we might see a huge showing this year at BEAST in sweden, beginning of april. If you're checking out Apex videos, i'd recommend the m2k vs everyone matches. (M2k vs Mango, M2k vs PP especially. they were pretty hype.)
