Personal attacks in this thread will draw a temp ban. |

Ultralisk are clumsy, they have retarted AI, they are melee, they are too large they take tooo long to produce, are easily kited, and take too much food + the support unit you make along with ultras (lings/fungal) get countered by the same Archon tech.
Go watch the Vods and you will see why Ultras are considered to be a worthless units.
Edit: *The videos you posted are pre range buff.
Also 1 mutalisk counters 100 colossi (just so you know). As I said, they aren't the best videos, but the 2nd video shows a straight up 1v1 fight. Zerg doesn't really have any unit to counter ultralisks, every unit we have is owned by archons. But ultralisks are the only ones that are half decent against them. As for retarded AI, maybe your speaking for yourself. Most Zerg players don't a-move and keep huge ultralisks clumped up in the same control group as tiny zerglings, or with ranged units like roaches which will block the way, and know to move command lings to prevent blocking, or even move command ultras for surrounds instead of just a-moving. Ultralisks AI are perfect, what's bad is you not controlling them maybe. 1 hotkey for lings, 1 hotkey for ultras, move command lings behind and ultras fanned out. It takes practice, but well worth it. Anyone who avoids ultras due to AI and pathing does not know how to use them properly. They also aren't easily kited if you use lings for flanks (Destiny rape thing) or FG. Not hard to do. And someone with 100 colossi will destroy your base faster than the muta will kill the army. That's why Ultralisks own VR/Colossi compositions - void rays are too slow and don't kill them fast enough. The difference is that CombatEx actually pauses and brings the stream of the player up, while Deezer will just play the games and snipe. If you watched the CombatEx vs. Deezer showmatch (funniest shit ever btw) it was extremely obvious that CombatEx was stream cheating while Deezer wasn't. The other way around brohan. Deezer streamcheated the entire time, Combat-ex didn't put up the stream until game 4 or 5. Nice story bro & I bet ultras are fine at your cough(gold) level. Ultras are fine bro, I was just wrong, keep on trolling. Nice argument their, I bet ultras are fine at your cough(bronze) level See how easy it is to use a made up argument then actually try to prove things like Belial did. But making illogical points doesn't make an argument. I can write paragraphs on how the sky is green and not blue, but that doesn't make me right or make an argument. I had previously outlined the common problems of ultralisk but belial seems to play in all another level then top or even good zergs. Hell every freaking good sc2 player knows (be it zerg or not) that ultras have clumping and AI/pathing problems. Edit: Using 1Archon vs 1Ultralisk on a test map to prove his point just shows he doesn't get it. In a real game you are attacking an all range army (protoss) with your melee army, your bound to lose tons of shit just closing in the distance, then comes the problem with the size of ultras when you try to surround, all this while protoss will be taking pot shots without the zerg even doing 1dmg. Not to mention you will be massing lings/infestors for support which are both countered with Templar tech!
At least my argument was not a logical fallacy like yours. And FYI, I don't know what sc2ranks site your using, but I am definitely not Gold. There are more than one person with the name Belial, I have a lot of fans. Not to mention, that that is quite possibly not my SC2 ID. You don't even know my realm.
I'm telling you, with perfect micro, ultralisks own. If you have zerglings grouped behind (say on a big map like TalDarim), and Ultralisks spread out in concave, they crush. It's not hard to do. If you engage in chokes, or have them grouped together, they get owned, and start to have pathing issues. But if you want to say Ultras have bad pathing, you might as well say Zerglings have bad pathing when they clump up in chokes too. It's definitely not an A-Move unit.
As for 'every freaking zerg player [hating ultralisks]' I don't know what you are talking about. Destiny, Morrow, and specificially, IDRA, have come out and said that Ultralisks are almost always better in ZvP than Broodlords. So I'm sure every player says Ultralisks can be frustrating at times, it 's no worse than Zerglings, and most understand the merits of Ultralisks in ZvP now.
If you really think melee units are bad because 'ranged units taking potshots' then you clearly don't know what you are talking about. There's this thing called ling/baneling in ZvT, it's pretty good despite melee vs ranged. All the melee units in this game are 'balanced' for melee, ie 2 a-moved lings will beat a-moved 1 marine. This is where things like zergling flank to keep units from kiting and FG is important.
Ultralisks have an incredible amount of life. You can try it in unit tester or 'real games', and you will see 10 Ultralisks will roll 20 colossi. It's not a matter of ranged counters melee (otherwise hydralisks would 'counter' archons, but they don't), it's a matter of certain untis beats others. Ultralisks crush everything but immortals and zealots, and an army light on such units will be beaten by ultras.
Ling/Infestor owns twilight tech. It has problems to HT tech, which 'standard' roach/BL play owns. Ultralisks also destroy twilight tech, which is where ling/infestor tends to go.

You guys should really stop arguing here. This is the idra fanclub not the ultralisk fan club, this places gets loaded with balance debates way too often (ironically enough).

Shut up. Use the PM function

TBH, I don't like his beard. Also, doesn't idra get unbanned really soon? Maybe he'll have a big post set-up to finally get a perma ban or something...although I really hope that doesn't happen because then I'll need to find something else to show my devotion to idra.

And I don't know what the hell could possibly get IdrA permed.

Is there a bet going on when IdrA will get his new ban?
My bet is he will last 26 days.
|
He was probably super pissed after losing in TSL so early, especially right before the balance patch and map edits.
Then cruncher stream sniping him as well.
Way more mellowed out now, nobody to really say anything bad about (except manifisto ) so I doubt he will get banned again

By the way, why Idra no assembly?

Is Idra still with his girlfriend?

IdrA said on ITG that he was invited but it was up to EG whether he went or not. I imagine EG considered it more important that he get setup and accustomed to the training house (especially with a fairly quick break until Raleigh, which is on the 26-28 on this month).

Sign me up please ! i love IdrA!

Why must you deny us the chance to see idra stomp at assembly EG.
In all seriousness though i could see why EG wants idra in top shape, he is there star player after all.

He is also involved in 2 more tournaments before Raleigh. Hitting 3 tournaments while moving into a new house and then going to Raleigh is just far to much

EG are already sending Idra to way too many tournaments; if anything, they should send him to less and give him more time to prepare properly.
|
Yea, you need to consider that there are so many tournaments going on, that you actually can't go to all of them. Look at MC. He went to Dreamhack, HSC 3, MLG all within a short amount of time, and he suddenly became mortal. Later in an interview, he said he needs to stop going to those tournaments for now to catch up on practice and focus on the GSL.
Also, I had a dream about IdrA last night. He was at the tournament and I got front row seats. And he waved to me when he was on stage and it fucking blew my mind.

I think Idra decides him self where to go and what not.

If you would even read the posts on the page you are on, you would see that Idra himself says EG decides whether to send him to tournaments he's invited to
