u can go look up jaejoong-mine and the rest of the songs in the album hes one of my favourite the whole album is good i would link but im on my phone ;_; also its kinda electronic rock but theres a song by beast called Shock, plus has my tl name in it lol
if by emo-y you mean like guys with black makeup screaming into the microphone kind of rock, then no i doubt youll find any. and nowadays new kpop songs mostly all seem to suck, even if they are from established groups. new kpop groups popping up every week with a crap song doesnt help either. maybe im dwelling too much on the past..
Are you guys complaining about the 7 seconds(or whatever) that was spent shaking their asses in a 3:11 min long song? Valid complaint ^_^ Didn't see anything wrong with anything to be honest, song is ok but not more. Thought the dance routine was kinda nice actually.
Edit: Ok just saw the MV and I can see what you are saying lol. Had only seen the live when I wrote the above

I liked the direction with the instrumental in the beginning, and then the vocals started. and I said nope within the same time too.
It was the same for me. The instrumental let some hope appear and it was immediately shut down by the vocals. I used to like 2NE1 and their presence at the top of the K-pop industry...
I really don't like where they are going, and I hope the whole "we like our artist to be free to express themselves" applies to Akdong cause it would be a real shame to see them go in the same direction YG is.
I think YG does not let artists "express themselves". All the YG releases have the same kind of "swag" feel recently. And Epik High's latest album was definitely a YG album more than an Epik High album, as was said. I have a very bad feeling for Akdong Musician...

No, that'd be gothy. I'm thinking emo-rock like... Dashboard, Taking Back Sunday, All Time Low-like music. A lot of Korean rock has shrill vocals and an orchestral touch, I'm saying.. pop rock.. It seems to not exist.
Something like this but not? Needs better singers... more powerful singers... general theme in Korean music imo.
JaeJoong wasn't a bad suggestion, thx guy. I'm looking for a resource to look this stuff up on my own too and don't know where to start, google doesn't really do it for me.

no brain is awesome. not a fan of crying nut. could also try yb. kind of mainstream but if youre looking for songs that are similar to that mv, yb might work.
I usually dont give a fuck about new groups but this chick Nari has caught my eye from wassup I dunno if its the hair color or what but I think she gonna be very popular in a few months.

I don't really have anything to add to the current discussion but I want to show-off my South Korea country code and share that I am going to the Younha concert in Seoul on the 24th and to the Incheon Music Wave September 1st. Pretty stoked :D
