has nothing pertaining to k-pop but i didnt feel like making a new thread for a simple question
for koreans and their mandatory military service, does it only apply to people born in korea? how about foreigners who live in korea at a young age? also what about people born in korea and then move out of korea but then go back to live there at an adult age?

I think it applies to ONLY Korean citizens. Well that's kind of a "duh" thing, however like Andy from Shinhwa is gnna go to the Military and I'm pretty sure he's born in the States (but I have a feeling I'm also completely wrong in that).

Is Lee Jooyeon the girl in all the gifs and in MrHoon and ilikestarcraft's profiles? If so, she's really good looking. I like her a lot. Very impressed to be honest.
you have good taste
Thank you. All those gifs in your profile, where'd you get them? Cause they're absolutely stunning.
I've been following stuff through Youtube, but I was wondering if there are better ways to keep track of what's happening in the KPop world as of late? I also went back and looked up some stuff on SNSD. I really liked Gee and their earlier stuff. Their newer songs are complete garbage, but they could really sing in their old songs.
i didnt find the gifs. If you notice they're all from hoon and roffles.

It only applies to koreans born in korea. Foreigners dont have to. People born in korea who live in the states, as soon as they go back to korea they have to go to the army unless they get greencard/citizenship during their stay or if they stay there till the pass the max age which i dont remember. But if you do that i heard like you're literally giving up your korean nationality not really that sure. I have a cousin who was born in korea and moved to america when he was younger and is still there and is trying to get a job after he graduated because if he goes back he has to go to the army. I was born in Korea and i lived in us around 12 years and i still have to go to the army. The only way not to is if you were born in another country. Thats why a lot of korean parents before tried to have their kids in America. I think they switched the policy on dual nationalities now though.

Yeah I still don't think you can have dual citizenship, especially after Yoo Seung Jun's thing. Could be worse though, they shorted the military term by a year.
Although, I've heard from some of my relatives to be careful still going to Korea. I might be born here in Virginia but you never know what kind of twisted thing they might do to force people like me into their military.
i highly doubt you would be forced to do it with dual citizenship. you automatically forfeit your US citizenship the second you join another country's military.
