Edit: Holy shit. Screw the torrent - Mazui's DDL is going at almost 1MB/s. ETA 7minutes. ^^ Just tried it......and I'm loving this site already! Thanks for the link guys... ....Hey wait..... Jesus....I'm getting way too into this. Damn you TL for your conversion powers!
Anime torrents ftw
Edit: I have a serious question. My friend lives far away from me. And I told her that I could put a bunch of shows onto an external hard drive and send it to her. Would it be legal to um...send that through the mail?

It was just on Tokyotosho. Not that it matters now that Mazui's done. And the whole point of a trollsub is that you don't know it's a troll. <_<

Well, only time will tell I guess. For starter, she a lot less psychotic when she's piloting, which counts for something, right?

But most of the Cyber Newtypes in the series were all in Zeta and Double Zeta, and thus were at the mercy of Tomino killing everything.
Marida's backstory is very tragic, so I can't imagine any director not taking pity on her, other than Depression-Tomino.

So I just watched the first episode of Mobile Suit Gundam. The OP is hilariously campy. The ED is also campy, but in a horrible, horrible way.
Anyays, it was really odd, because it was more or less a perfect copy of Gundam SEED (I guess it's the other way around though, huh <_<). Enemies invading the colony (IIRC, there's even a guy in SEED that says "to think they'd attack from the inside" or something to that effect, just like in the original)? Check. Kid starts piloting the gundam? Check. Mook can't damage the gundam because of its advanced armor? Check. Stupid mook charges the gundam and gets killed? Check. A hole gets blown in the side of the colony? Check.
Talk about being lazy. Can I expect more of this in future episodes?

Almost every Gundam starts out with the same premise - enemies attack, Gundams are stolen/used prematurely, and conflict escalates to the point of weapons of mass destruction, with plenty of political and philosophical rumination en route.

Gundam Seed in particular was meant to be a sort of rehash of the earlier series for the newer generation. Every Gundam series is pretty much the same anyway. There's always a kid who gets a super-powerful robot and kills a bunch of people, then goes through all this crazy stress 'cause of all the people he's killed, then turns into a pacifist and stops the war.
EVERY GUNDAM SERIES.

I really like it! :D It's the best episode by far in my opinion seconded by vs. Father episode, but those scenes he talks to his dad makes me laugh to no end

'Tis why I loved 08th and Stargazer, among others

Stardust Memory and G Gundam deviate from the formula as well, though I would have to say it's for the worse in the latter case <.<

Good thing it's not Tomino at the helm this time, huh? =) Tomino's kill rate is especially high among those who are slightly psychotic. Katejina Roos is prob the only one that's a bit nutty and survived the whole ordeal.

Spazer, SEED was more or less a reimagining of the Original Gundam, at least for its first half. After SEED gets out of the Desert, it went in a different direction than the original, so you don't need to worry about the original being identical the entire way.

EVERY GUNDAM SERIES. "Turns into a pacifist and stops the war" only applies SEED, I think. Not even Amuro, the character all those other characters are based on, turns into a pacifist.
Also, I think its a way to huge of a generalization to say that all Gundam series follows that formula. For starters, most of the Gundam OVAs (08th MS Team, 0083, 0080, etc) all deviate greatly from that. G Gundam is a freakin Super Robot show, so its no where near that generalization. Then shows like X, Turn A, 00, and Wing are all very different in style, presentation, and plot. Even SEED Destiny differs slightly from the formula established by the original, because Destiny is a shit copy of Zeta Gundam.

real? idk if his recommendation of ore no imouto and the world god only knows were serious or not, but by their description I wouldn't exactly qualify them as 'solid' anime.
On a completely unrelated note, the Jin-Roh soundtrack is amazing.
I tried to watch the second season of ghost in the shell: stand alone complex on bluray, but it seems a bit strange. The soundtrack volume is very high, while you can barely hear the voices. I tried in various players and even on my TV surround but it's the same. Is it supposed to be like that?

It was a serious recommendation but as you said...it wouldn't qualify as a "solid anime"/anime with quality.

I'm a little confused, what is a "solid" Anime?
Is there suddenly a difference between a "solid" Anime and an Anime with quality (the above post put a slash between the two)......
I mean....I think that Ore no Imouto, seriously, is good. I don't watch a lot of others, so I can't compare....but it's a fresh new concept with a topic area that some people are a bit surprised to watch. The dialogue is nice and the characters are interesting because each character bares something new that I haven't seen before.
Yet:
+ Show Spoiler +I will admit, there was a point in ep5 of Imouto where I felt that Kirino was molding back into your average younger sister who hates her brother for not caring for her. But the scenes before and after that allowed me to forgive that.
Oops....did not realize it was a slash.

Or we can ignore little details and simply say that Shauni looks for different things in his animes than a lot of people, which we all know to be true by this point
