please, please. I'd rather see filler than that shit.
Though logically it is going to be Index S2 iirc she practically becomes a supporting character after her arc in the novels. So you might just be in luck.

yessssss
She is by far the most annoying character in the entire series T_T
I want to see Accelerator get some more time in though. He became a pretty good character towards the end of Index

I'm looking forward to Itsuwa, Kakine, and the Hummer (though I don't know if we'll get that far)

Word we're doing top 5's?
Seiyuu: Nonaka Ai Itou Shizuka Hirano Aya Inoue Marina Koshimizu Ami
Anime: Kumo no Mukou, Yakusoku no Basho Eureka Seven Hayate no Gotoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei Lucky Star

Accelerator IS the second main character. Spazer, how did you even know about Itsuwa considering she doesn't really show up till like vol 14? Don't recall bakatsuki's translations getting that far.
He's a generic moralistic faggot cliche character. There's nothing special about him at all.
So much hate as usual, Shauni.

But it's true. He's like Shu. 1 Dimensional, dumb, the paragon of morality, object of comedic value, etc. I'm not sure who's worse though.
His only redeeming factor is Imagine Breaker. But then again, it just seems to exist now doesn't it?

Railgun/Index threads on /a/ and ACHT's Raildex Novel Summaries and Secrets. They're like the only threads that get decent replies apart from Type-Moon threads. Spoilers galore, but the material is fascinating.

Touma isn't so much one dimensional as it is that the author like to pit him up against obvious opponents. Once the Right Hand of God shows up, Touma got a lot better, at least in my opinion. Heck, in vol 17 he even showed completely unjustified wrath. In general, once his opponents actually are just outright EVIL people, he escapes from that curse. Even in vol 2, honestly speaking, he already broke from that one dimensional personification of all things moral bs.
If people want some Byronic anti-hero though, look to Accelerator. I am rather curious to see if the author will properly make Aqua into a main character...then there is the kid from Skill Out whose name I can't remember in spite of how he is now at protagonist #3 status.
And ah, on /a/ eh, no idea since I don't venture into that area of the internets. Itsuwa is great though, since we've been needing some competition for Misaka for the longest time. How Index manages to make herself so irrelevant is beyond me.
Oh, top 5 lists...too lazy to think of things for anime, so I'll go with some seiyuus for now.
1) Noto Mamiko 2) Sakamoto Maaya 3) Kawasumi Ayako 4) Fukuyama Jun 5) Sawashiro Miyuki

My top favorites since everyone else is doing it...
1. Cowboy Bebop 2. Ghost in the Shell (I really liked both the films and SAC) 3. Kara no Kyoukai 4. Clannad 5. Honey + Clover (this was a really tough one to choose)

I'm gonna keep going with it in the case that it actually culminates into something really interesting, but the episodic nature of the independent arcs is really turning me off. lol... Maybe you should calm down a little before watching anime. I didn't say Higurashi was a masterpiece but complaining about something that was completely intended and logical seems strange to me. It's like whining over Pulp Fiction not being presented chronologically and therefore making it unwatchable. In Pulp Fiction's case, its presentation made half of the movie, and it makes sense. It was not clear to me from having watched half of the first season, and a 26 episode anime series is a much larger time investment than a single feature film. People complain about things in anime that are completely intended all the time, and I don't see where logic fits into this.

Since a lot of people are listing Kara no Kyoukai, what are everyone's favorite kara no kyoukai ep? I feel like I'm the only one who liked the first one the best.
I was looking at the sick 1/7th shiki PVC last night... gahh it's SO NICE. If I wasn't totally broke I'd have gotten it by now.

I would've started going down that path if it wasn't for the exchange rate around the time it was released. Well, a GSC Senjyogahara will break my defenses.

I watched 1 kara no kyoukai and saw a puppet arm that tried to kill it's master along with some girl jumping off roofs killing ghosts

Didn't we just go over these figures and how ungodly expensive they are a dozen or so pages back?
KnK 1: Uh, what's going on? KnK 2: Flashback time. This is confusing. KnK 3: I still don't really know what's going on, but I kinda get it. KnK 4: Oh I see. KnK 5: This series is friggin' awesome. KnK 6: Azaka is moe. KnK 7: Still gotta watch this.
Now that I actually know what's going on in the series, I might be able to appreciate the first movie a little more. Still, that whole floating/flying thing went way over my head.
My favorite episode would have to be the fifth. It just does a great job of wrapping up the story (for the most part). If you're new to the series, it's also the point where you finally get to learn why everything that has occurred so far in the series has happened. I also liked how the theme of spirals is demonstrated time and time again in the movie. Even the way the story is told is a reference to spirals - the beginning of the movie is told from Shiki's perspective, while the second half is told from Mikiya's, and the two separate views eventually merge together to form a single coherent story. It was just beautifully executed. It's also the only movie in which Touko gets to show off a little (the whole "is this me or am I a puppet" thing was a pretty neat discussion).

Ya movie 5 was awesome. Movie 6 was terrible. Movie 7 was ok.

Rewatching the first, it makes a lot more sense... but I'm generally pretty good at deciphering confusing movies.
I wasn't a huge fan of movie 5... I'd probably rank them 1>3>7>5>2>6>4
I guess the seeing Shiki's mystic eyes is way more intense when you see them for the first time.

Noooo, not another KnK argument! Ecael always wins those...

I can't tell if that's sarcasm
Going to leave it to Southlight, busy trying to race through some things~ For personal preferences though, chapter 5 was imo the most well done of them all. I have a thing for chapter 3 because I love Noto and she did Fujinon...um, I mean, Fujino's dilemma was most interesting, yes. Chapter 6 we already have a ton of stuff about it somewhere in this thread, it is good to see Azaka get more attention, but the price we paid was a bit too steep. To be honest, I've always felt chapter 1 was weaker than even chapter 7.

Non-chronological order and inability to (not surprisingly) adapt the philosophical elements of the novel into film caused el confusion :p

TOP 10 ANIME WOO:
1. Rebuild of Evangelion 2. Studio Ghibli Movies 3. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Movies 4. Shinseiki Evangelion 5. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann 6. Kara no Kyoukai 7. Hellsing Ultimate 8. Ghost in the Shell Movies (not S.A.C.) 9. Summer Wars 10. FLCL
About Kara no Kyoukai, they tried to incorporate the philosophical side of the series, but that's hard to do without direct access to characters' thoughts and emotions. At least they had some masterful pacing. By the end of the films it wasn't too confusing for me.

mushishi ftw I don't even dare make a top 5. That's me though, and I think most people wouldn't appreciate it as much :D
