But seriously...what the fuck? Does it get better by the end of the first season? It was entertaining for the wtf moments and the creepy horror/thriller stuff, but the constant repeats are really starting to wear me thin. I'm having a hard time keeping interest in this series 'cause it doesn't seem to go anywhere. It's like Endless Eight, but, dare I say it, WORSE.
So...is it worth getting through? If not, I'm gonna be mad, as I have to keep seeding this piece of shit regardless, since I got it off of bakabt...
How can you even compare it to endless eight? The episodes of every prologue arc are slightly similar but definitely not the other episodes. I wasn't bothered by the 'repeats' at all and I've never heard such a complaint before. And no, it doesn't get better toward the end so drop it if you can't stand it. Poor you for having to seed 'that piece of shit'.
Oh and regarding this season again, Senkou no Night Raid wasn't too bad. First episode was mostly suspense-action which didn't say much about the following storyline but it was structured and relatively well made so it might be worth checking out in the future.

Preety much why i droped Higurashi + bad animation style. Watched 2 arcs and im like wtf they die and they start all over again.. makes no sense for me.

Yeah, that's why I decided to ask about it here. Instead of a real response, I get a Shauni one...
I'm gonna keep going with it in the case that it actually culminates into something really interesting, but the episodic nature of the independent arcs is really turning me off.

Basically, Higurashi works like a mystery where instead of you getting all the information you need in one go, you get the information you need in replays that can work out to be different variations. Season 1 is basically the evidence gathering part, and season 2 starts to solve the individual issues as you finally look through the eyes of the one character that mattered.
|
So season one plays out basically like it's been going for these first 15 or so episodes, and the second season is where it starts to come together? That's interesting.
|
Yeah, all the arcs tie in together. It's hard to explain it without spoiling it, but there is definitely a purpose for everything.

And the art is terrible to. Ugh.
Edit- yes, it does come together in season 2, but I really didn't like season 2 either :/

I loved higurashi, studio deen was bad with art but i think the story tied together well, albeit cheezily

Someone recommended Moyashimon (tales of agriculture) not long ago
SO FUNNY lol... and now I'm more interested in sake/brewing. I just love anime with good themes, like nodame (classical music), honey & clover (arts in general). If you like comedy and slice of life genres, definitely go for this one!
also watched shigurui: death frenzy pretty cool... samurai, dark, gore action... mature stuff. I thought it was boring in the beginning, but after a few episodes I was really excited about it.

yeah Moyashimon is so cute and funny :D

Higurashi is like that because you're supposed to keep going and slowly figuring out what's going on. Then you watch the second season where all the answer arcs are, and everything is explained in detail. If it's not for you, it's ok to drop it. Also, compared to the VNs, the anime is pretty bad, but people love it because the VNs were never translated until recently, so it was all we had. Also, you're supposed to watch it and read through all the tips you can find around the internet (which are also from the VNs). Umineko is pretty much the same thing, things happen in a closed circle, it's creepy but you slowly get to know what's going on, except in this case it's much more exciting/interesting. But you only get to experience it if you read the VNs, the anime pretty much ruins it. It's pretty hard to adapt a VN into an anime, it's nearly impossible to squeeze them into a 26 episode series... Though Clannad (After Story in particular) is probably the most perfect VN adaptation ever made, that is until they made Kyou OVA, which was pretty off.

Moyashimon is pretty much the only slice of life show I like. :>

1.Naruto 2.Death Note 3.Evangelion 4.Kenshin OVA 5.Clannad I don't think that will be very useful. I mean...come on, look at your top 5. There is no trace of any preference at all. It would be better if you just write something like: "I like seinen anime with tons of blood", "I prefer profound anime which make you think about life/relationships/society/...." or "Shounen is the way to go, any generic story+characters will do just fine".
