Yeah I just started watching this since I have a bit of time... it's pretty damn good. Only up to the second episode though. xD I'm assuming the main series is good too? :D Eugh, main series is so-so. It's an old series aimed for kids, so... I wouldn't recommend it. You just need to know the basic premise of the old series and what happened between them and Kyousuke (who went from primary antagonist to primary protagonist this time around)... mainly because this is a sequel ;p You can really just kinda google/wiki that, though.
Oke I'll do that then. Still a good series. Should have probably waited until it finished since I hate waiting for eps. xD

Watched Grave of the Fireflies and Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki today. Both were really good, feels everywhere.

Damn I really need to watch some of those good movies
|
I liked Grave of the Fireflies alot (so does pretty much everyone else). Ookami Kodomo not so much.
Ookami Kodomo is a pretty nice generic family film, and nothing wrong with that I guess.

I'm inclined to agree about Ookami Kodomo, but that doesn't stop me from liking it a lot, haha. It had some heartwarming moments, but I liked the drama etc, too. As for Grave of the Fireflies, it was rather painful to watch, albeit in a (very) good way.

There is not alot WW2 related stuff for obvious reasons. Natsu no Arashi is pretty well done also. Manga that is, as the anime got Shafted.

I can't bring myself to watch Grave of the Fireflies. I watched it as a kid, not really knowing what I was watching, but I still remember vividly many of the scenes and I just cant....
|
No shame in that, honestly.
|
It is really powerful movie, that's for sure.

I hope Gantz ends after this, realized how many bad series I'm concurrently reading (still got nothing on most of you guys in terms of total number of series read in parallel). Wanna get back to some animes

Can someone rec me a good 50-ep anime. Normally I used to watch FMA Brotherhood and Cross Game in my bed, and they always helped me to unwind after a long day. But since I finished both, I have nothing else to watch. Other than Hayate, which I pretty much dropped at this point.

My sister was about 7 years old when my history teacher recommended Grave of the Fireflies to me and I took the VHS home and watched it. Holy shit I bawled my eyes out.

Yeah but dgrayman isn't finished and it's unsure whether the series will continue due to the author's illness or somethin' like that.

I dunno why but everyone I know who has seen it just cried and cried, but I didn't shed a single tear I just felt super super super depressed lol T__T more empty inside and melancholy than emotional. Good movie though. Sort of a staple as far as anime film go.

Full Moon wo Sagashite seems like something you would enjoy Also Kaleido Star
Yumeiro Patissiere is kind of too cute, but I enjoyed it
Hanasakeru Seishounen is kinda weird, try it I guess (it's one of those 39 ep one)
If you want go old school, Hana Yori Dango
If you want go REALLY old school Hiatari Ryoukou Miyuki (both are Adachi, since you enjoyed Cross Game. There is also H2, but the anime is not that great, manga is good)
You probably should watch Touch if you haven't though, since Cross Game is basically Touch-Lite

Alternatively you can watch Zettai Karen Children instead, and then watch the currently running sequel.
