We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. TLADT discord is Discord.gg

edit: yes, i saw the recommendations, but that list is huge
Lololol, someone already recced Death Note, just like Sent said. And I will recommend Code Geass.
Slice of Life/Cute Girls/Moe/Music: K-On!
Romance/Drama: Clannad
Action/Adventure: Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Intellectualness()/War: Code Geass Fate/Zero
Actual intellectualness: Steins; Gate
Magical Girls: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Nanoha
Mechs: Gundam Unicorn Code Gea- I mean Gundam SE- I mean Mobile Suit Gundam Robotech
hm, I still need to watch several of these...
Don't consider myself an anime expert, but I've watched nearly all of these, and I can recommend most of the above. If I could add one to the list, it would be Cowboy Bebop, as I've watched it more than a few times and I find it still as great as the first I saw it (action, slice of life'ish).
K-On and Clannad were pretty meh for me. I much more enjoyed Azumanga Daoih for comedy/slice of life (still consider it the best anime comedy of all time. OF ALL TIME)
For comedy/slice of life, I'd recommend Haruhi,
For mecha, Gundam SEED, Gundam Wing, Nanoha, Full Metal Panic,
For action/adventure, I agree with above and go with Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood,
For guns and shit blowing up, Black Lagoon.
yea pretty much this
Bake isnt particularly accessible to everyone, I think thats already well established, Nagi's reccs are fine for people who want to get into it. Haruhi is maybe a bit hit or miss for SOL, you could go for something more mainstream and slapsticky like School Rumble for comedy/sol.
Theres nothing wrong with pointing people toward popular anime that people dont necessarily like here either or even if their just "ok" let someone getting into it decide for themselves if they want to explore it deeper, we've all been there.
Jesus Christ Rin2 shocked me enough, but the fact that it traumatized Rin even through the next world loop aka Refrain just made me go NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO T_T. Also whoever posted before me that the baseball field scene was awesome, I TOTALLY AGREE. I loved Masato's CG, Kengo and Kyouske's were good but mehish compared to Masato's.
Btw, at the last part, when ur saving everyone, has someone tried every single possible solution? I noted some dont make a difference (e.g. the first choice, choosing clearing your mind OR running into the scene doesnt really make a difference. Neither does telling Rin to remove the seats or check in the bags), but some make u die instantly (saving Kyouske without using the jacket to block the hole). If someone makes a flowchart of all the different possibilities that would be cool
Also, apparently they are releasing Ecstasy next. Just for people who aren't sure what that entails, it features a new op, improves Haruka and Kud's routes a lot, has minor word changes to the others (not sure about this one, but the likelihood is high), and features 3 new routes: + Show Spoiler +
Kanata, Sasasegawa, and a new character, Saya, who's route is apparently pretty insane.
I haven't read any Ecstasy content, and no one so far has told me it's as legendary as Refrain.
A large part of discussion is dispute, so to see a 1700 page long discussion thread and assume that there is anything undisputed in it is silly. The most anyone can offer is what they personally really liked. Some of my favorites: Haibane Renmei, Turn A Gundam, Getter Robo Armageddon, Kara no Kyoukai, Super Robot Wars OG: The Inspector.

I read Kanata's route, it felt as useless as Komari's

I literally got the final LB patch and read the final 2 routes asap right after they came out. YET U GUYS FINISHED A DAY BEFORE ME HOOOOOOOW

It has been a while since I read Ex, but iirc there were no actual changes to the original routes other than addition of H scenes. You are essentially going to be playing for Saya route.
Kanata route is average but I guess knowing the other side of the picture is good. Sasasasasasa route has got pretty decent praise but isn't exactly amazing in any way.
Rita sang Little Busters, Alicemagic, Over Eufonius sang Megumeru, Over Lia sang Tori no Uta and some of the Clannad songs Lisa is Yui from GDM so she has a Crow Song cover, and Thousand Enemies, Alchemy and some other AB songs
so reading about the seiyuus.... Rin and Riki and Sasami are the same person I knew Kyouske's voice sounded familiar, He's Yoshino Yusuke! Masato is Lancer from FSN (I can see the resemblance) Komari = Shindou Chihiro (Ef) whoa, Komari is everything I expect Chihiro Not to be. Haruka is Kanata obviously, she's also Shizuru from Rewrite also as the girl from Planetarian Mio is Sekai from School Days (this one made me grin)
I like Lisa a lot but her songs without Maeda Jun lack flair. I've seen her live a few times and she is absolutely fantastic.
But she is really not a key singer. She was an indie artist who got noticed by Maeda Jun (when he was trying to save money by looking for no names *cough*) finding new talent.
After that gig she landed herself a record contract and is now a solo artist. She's not affiliated with Key any longer.
Also, the little busters op is the greatest thing ever. I have a ton of remixes of that thing. Though I have never played the game. I will never play a VN with no smexings. It is my just reward for reading all those moonrunes.

well my definition of Key singer is kinda like
People who performed in the KSL2010
But is it me or does Lisa sound a bit weird live singing the GDM songs. like in alchemy her voice doesn't offer the consistency that Lia and Eufonius has. Rita does pretty ok in that part too but Lia probably offers the most consistency. in KSL 2008 Lia had like the most songs but still did good compared to Lisa, but you can't blame her, she had alot of songs too. Euphonius just had Megumeru and Over.

Ah i see. I generally don't consider them a key singer until they've appeared in more than 1 work.
When I saw her live during the girldemo tour, she sounded really good. Shine Days live is so great. Maybe she had a bad day when you were watching. Or more likely, I got convinced by the atmosphere and the cheering lol.
