For the record Haruka's route and Mio's route I found quite good, Along with Kurugaya, I really liked Yuiko's route. But....... Kud... and worst of all... Komari.....
Kud? I LOVE KUD!!!
Note: I didnt actually play LB myself, just watched a guy stream it and the only character I found remotely cute was Kud, dawwwwwwwwwww.
I don't really know what to say about Kud route.... it was just, kinda boring, kinda weird, drama is kinda forced.

He's made me read up more on Gilgamesh, which ended up making me spoil F/Z myself. /raaaaage!! But yeah, the stuff he said sounded more like speculation anyways, except for the shit that's happened already.
Oh, well I haven't even watched the most recent episode because of finals. D:
sorry that i can't read through this entire thread, but, in a nutshell, i'm looking for the 4-5 indisuptably (or almost indisputably) best anime series of all time. i have seen zero anime, but i've run out of almost all other quality tv/film and so figured i'd give it a shot ...
edit: yes, i saw the recommendations, but that list is huge

You aren't going to find indisputably, or even "almost" indisputably, the best anime of all time. You are better off asking what exactly you are looking for, like genre wise. Do you want action, comedy, drama, romance, etc etc? Is length an issue? Series or movie? Animation an issue? Stuff like that.

I haven't even met all the girls yet but so far I like Kurugaya's character the most, though that's not saying much at this point. I guess I'll do Komari's route first to get it out of the way...anyway, a couple questions. So I vaguely understand how the VN choices concept works to determine what route you go on but once I finish x route, how exactly do I proceed to complete another one? Do I just restart and make different choices? I guess it depends on what choices I made initially in terms of how far back I need to go, but is there like a standard efficient way to go about doing this? I'm no capture god so I have no idea.

This illustrates my point pretty well. Bakemonogatari is in no way even close to "indisputably" the best anime of all time. Thus why the question itself is flawed.
edit: And now I look at the post below me, that is an even better example lol. The majority of regulars in this thread don't even like Death Note, or think its just average at best. I bet someone is going to recommend Code Geass as well, and that one is looked at even more poorly in this thread. Point is that there is no such thing as an indisputably best anime.

I think Death Note would be perfect. It's very widely liked, and imo very accessible to people who don't watch anime. It also has an English dub if watching with subtitles would take away from the fun.
(1:58:08 AM) Ecael: [Hayate] get placed with Maria as ojou, totally "saved", does something about it (1:58:16 AM) Ecael: he isn't assailed by misfortune (1:58:20 AM) Ecael: he brings misfortune onto himself (1:58:26 AM) Friend: seriously (1:59:11 AM) Friend: here is a 150 million dollar diamond, go spend the rest of your life with twintail Maria...what do you mean no?...what do you mean "fix" this? Poor, poor soul.
Is there something wrong with me when seeing bake mentioned in this thread made me jump, thinking that it is LN scans to koimonogatari?

hm, I still need to watch several of these...
Don't consider myself an anime expert, but I've watched nearly all of these, and I can recommend most of the above. If I could add one to the list, it would be Cowboy Bebop, as I've watched it more than a few times and I find it still as great as the first I saw it (action, slice of life'ish).
K-On and Clannad were pretty meh for me. I much more enjoyed Azumanga Daoih for comedy/slice of life (still consider it the best anime comedy of all time. OF ALL TIME)

For comedy/slice of life, I'd recommend Haruhi,
For mecha, Gundam SEED, Gundam Wing, Nanoha, Full Metal Panic,
For action/adventure, I agree with above and go with Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood,
