Why go dubbed when you can go subs? Subs ftw yo.
DRRR is a good anime though.
Subs annoying to read while playing games/doing shit. Listening is ezpz.

Nah, most popular game in #TLADT is WC2
You kidding me? Most popular game in #TLADT is Grief Syndrome.

Hehe, about that...I've been on #TLADT perhaps 3 times. I don't really go on IRC.
Oh, I didn't realize that. Yeah, 3 is alot bigger than 1, so I guess you have been on IRC enough to know what you are talking about. My bad.
I think you understood my original post about Grief Syndrome, that was sarcasm. And then I think you misunderstood by next post about going on IRC 3 times, which was more of a comedy-joke post...r maybe I'm just looking to deep into this because of the difficulty of expressing sarcasm over text.
Anyone have any good shoujo romance manga? Currently I'm reading Full House Kiss which I like a lot.
The only Dub I ever liked was Code Geass...but then, considering I only watched anime in Dub back then. I now realize how weird sounding CG dub sounds like after constantly watching Subbed anime, I still think that it's of better quality then most dubs though.

And when did Love Hina become shoujo? Thought it was shounen. O?O

It is my personal belief that English language voice actors can't convey crap through their voice acting.
Great, we have the beginnings of a Subs vs Dubs war.
It just depends on the dub.
While searching for where a song from the Unicorn OST2, I clicked on an English dub trailer of Unicorn ep 4. No, just no. Never going with dubs again, it just sounds like people reading off a script.

To me, watching dubs definitely can let me multitask. But I would be sacrificing quality anime for quantity... I would rather stick with quality.
TTGL dubs are pretty good, though the Japanese is amazing. Same with FLCL. Samurai Champloo is good, Trigun is great because JYB is amazing as Vash, and FMA dubs are good.
Basically ones that have a good budget and are noticed in America. Side ones that have a smaller fanbase don't get the top-tier VAs or anything like that.
Also: The Negima dub whyyyyyyyyyyyfuckshitassmyears.jpg
Yu Yu Hakusho and Gundam 08th MS Team had good dubs too. I thought Gundam SEED had a good dub as well, as long as you aren't actually watching the severely over-edited disco-gun version of it.
I find it amusing that instead of devolving into a sub vs dub war that I expected it to, people are now just naming examples of both good and bad dubs with no arguments. The last time I watched dub was Shana. Oh god...English voice actors probably don't even know what a tsundere is.
Man that was an awesome episode. This show is at its best when they let Fear-chan go crazy and kill everything. And it looks like Saito Chiwa will become a recurring character too.
No nekkid Fear-chan but murderous intent Fear-chan makes up for it imo.
I wonder if USA people read slower than finns/nordic people. I nor none of my friends would imagine it to be legimate reason to use dubs when you can't "read fast enough" or takes too much focus. Not offensive ofc. I just wonder if it's like that since you have no need for subs ever while finns never watch with native language any shows (practically).
Oh god...English voice actors probably don't even know what a tsundere is.
So what did they call tsundere? xD Philologies just can't match.. :O Even subs have alot fails in them.. It help's that you can also listen jap dub same time and understand that the word actor uses might not be translated right in subs. ( See wierdo, pervert, geek and hentai titles)

Probably because a lot of us Americans don't read. Not including myself, <3 books yo. It's difficult to read fast when the only time you look at actual text is on forums.
"Tsundere" just isn't a theme you see outside of Japanese works that much. Occasionally you'll see a character who shows similar signs of being tsun-tsun, but it's not a typical archetype in TV and movies here as it is in anime and manga. If a VA doesn't read/watch a lot, the personality traits might be lost on them.
Also, back to what he was asking for, I know Durarara runs on Adult Swim, but I dunno if that means you can find it somewhere or have to pick up in the middle now. I'd like to see the dubs, though, because fuck yeah just found out Johnny Yong Bosch is in it. He's Vash, he's Ichigo, he's Lelouch. How do you not love this guy?

yea most of the late 80's/90's shows have decent voice acting, (it may well be the same perhaps its just a nostalgia bias)most of the recent stuff is precisely what someone mentioned, people reading of a script. Especially with the nature of the show. They have like zero impact, Again someone mentioned the Black Lagoon dub, Dutch was okish (hes black doh) and so was Rock (he starts of pathetic not to hard to do) but apart from that it was terrible. None of Revy's menace is properly translated, instead of the overdose of raw aggression, you get the scheming bitch voice, its really really not good.

Nyaa.eu or bakabt.com are good sites, though bakabt takes off US licensed stuff I believe. Bakabt generally has awesome torrents, but they require you to have a certain seed ratio to keep the DL speed up :D
Nyaa is a subset of what TokyoToshokan aggregates so I would recommend the latter.

I'm not talking about the literal word tsundere; I'm talking about voice acting a tsundere. The voice actress for Shana completely butchered the tsundere archetype and made Shana a legitimately angry girl who didn't sound anything remotely similar to a tsundere. Then again, I only watched 1 episode because I couldn't stand my tsundere being ruined like that.
I'm the kind of person that watches a lot of stuff in both languages. I usually watch the Japanese first and if a dub is available I will check it out and if it's good or I like it, I will re-watch the whole or most of the show in English.
There are a few shows I find that I honestly enjoyed more in English than Japanese. I'll just list a few, Haruhi, GitS, Black Lagoon, FLCL, Baccano, Gunsmith Cats and a ton of others that I will just leave out for now.
In all honestly in the dub vs. sub debate, go with whatever you like.
