That'll restore the lost hope Rebecca expressed during the chapter, I'm sure, and give her a crucial morale boost. Not to mention that he's 99.9% the father of Rebecca and got married to her princess mother some time between 20 years ago when he was in his last gladiatorial match and 10 years when he got turned into a toy during Dofla's coup.
It's understandable then why the dwarves put so much faith in him. He's a legend.
Only gripe I had when reading the chapter was Usopp's reaction to the dwarf talking about Soldier-san. "He's just a one-legged toy soldier!" He should know better. They've already told him that every toy was someone. Wouldn't be so unreasonable for him to realise that that someone was someone powerful.
no matter how powerful he was he is currently just a one legged toy soldier who cant beat one of doflas subordinates :/
So? Leo was talking about it on a basis of operation sop needing to be a success, i.e. what would happen after the toy soldier had been turned into a human.

What makes you draw that conclusion?
Idk instincts :D .. no logical reason really .. i just feel he is about to die later on..
He won't die. Pell didn't even die during the alabasta arc. It's not oda's way to kill off someone like that...ace aside.
Personally not such a big Rebecca fan. Her personality isn't that interesting to me. And 'hotness' just doesn't cut it : there are way too many sexy manga characters already. Interesting female personalities? Now that is something I want to see...
Totally missed the release of the chapter. I also took like 15 minutes to notice that Rebecca just told her father she doesn't believe he ever existed. Good thing he can't move his toyface, I bet he was dying inside when she said it.

I'm not so sure that all monarchies were like that. I'm not in the mood to dig something up right now, but I think the strongest possibilities are that she doesn't accept the throne(with or without running away), that Violet is older than Scarlet(coming first in line) or that Rebecca is deemed unfit/too young to rule making Violet the acting regent until Rebecca is old enoughI knew the word for that once, but I forgot it).
Anyway, if Rebecca has a heart for adventures rather than for ruling, she won't. You can't force someone to rule after all.
Also with the ability to see into the hearts of people, Violet would be the best queen ever. Literally the best.

wouldnt KING RIKU just sit on the throne again?
People in the thread under the toy fruit and forgot king riku is still alive.

yah but he's not actually a toy
And the citizens who were turned into toys still have all their memories. Nobody has forgotten Riku, but they see him as an evil tyrant because of Doflamingos scheme and most people apparently dont know that he is still alive.

Ironically, Riku is the one person Doflamingo cannot afford to turn into a toy, as he needs a tyrant figure to justify his rule. I'm kinda interested in knowing what Riku was doing in the past few years, also.

Well, I didn't mean the citizens forgot him. I meant the TL posters forgot about him, since they were ready to crown rebecca. Once they beat doflamingo, the truth will be revealed so the citizens will have no reason to hate him anymore and he'll return to being the beloved king as he was before.

Vivi wasn't queen of her country either, her sense of responsibility toward her country seems similar to how Rebecca is. Even if she has nothing to do with ruling the country she could still stay to help. Or you could say that once this whole mess is over she wants a fresh start and joins (doubt it tho since the whole dad reveal for her will come up soon. So unless he dies during the conflict she has a very good reason to stay).
If Kyros is returned to a Human and survives the upcoming civil war in dressrosa, there is no way Rebecca is just going to leave the father who helped her train and survive for ten years, despite being forgotten even by his own daughter.

really? i get the impression rebecca doesn't give jack shit about anything other than living with mr soldier.
Maybe I am getting the rants against DF mixed up a bit, I would have to reread some chapters. The dad remains a huge hurdle though for her joining so unless he dies or says "you need a fresh start away from all this crap" she likely is rooted in that kingdom.
Hey, I'm not going to lie, I didn't see Franky joining the straw hats until the very last moment. Maybe because I was pissed at the drama he caused with usopp and all, but idk.
I think Rebecca needs to join so that Sanji won't feel let down about Violet not joining.+ Show Spoiler +
I knew Franky was joining because he was a shipwright and Luffy was hellbent on getting one coming in. Then he was the only one who got an extended back story and also wasn't tied down to the city like Iceberg was.
