Smoke and mirrors at its finest. I must say I've been tricked by this movie a lot. First of all, it was directed by Catherine Hardwicke, who recently spewed Twilight. Then there's the title, which reminds me of nothing but a corny children's fairy tale. So, with pretty low expectations and bullshit radar jammed I sat to watch this movie... I must say that I'm glad I've been tricked as with all the safety measures down I had time to view this movie with much more open mind and it did deliver. You've got really nice sets and aesthetics, oversaturated colors, emphasis on key things, trees with giant thorns and all that which instantly moves you to the fairy tale land. But that's just another deception, because under the hood (all pun intended) it's actually a very decent psychological thriller as well as love story. Gary Oldman pretty much steals the show when he makes his appearance, but that's a good thing. Throughout the movie you're given clues as to who's the wolf and you can't really figure it out until the big reveal. I like this approach of flinging blame, true clues mixed with deception left and right to keep you guessing, I don't like how some movies point to the bad guy right from the get go and focus on the pika-boo action.
Overall it's a pretty damn good movie that'll get you hooked.
Best thing that has anything to do with this movie. <3 Fever Ray:
I saw The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo the other day and enjoyed it a lot! It managed to successfully combine about 20 things I already know I like (short list: David Fincher's direction, Trent Reznor's music, Daniel Craig, a thrilling and tightly-plotted novel, a well-executed mystery, truly abhorrent villains, Sweden, winter, a cute goth girl, etc) into one really satisfying whole. I had pretty high expectations going into the movie from liking both the book and everything Fincher lays his hands on, and I definitely came out satisfied. As an added bonus, the movie has maybe my favorite trailer of all time:
Hi TL, I'm looking for sport/competition themed movies, I generally tend to really like movies that follow someone who is the best at what they do, doesn't really matter what that is. Some movies that I've seen and enjoyed with this kind of style recently were:
Wimbledonhttp://www.imdb.com/title/tt0360201/ A little diffrent then the others, mostly a romantic/comedy but the game (tennis) is still very much the focus. 8/10
I'm looking for other similar movies, if anyone has any recommendations I be very grateful.

1. Yes I agree. I think the best part of this wolf movie that I'm watching now is going to have to be the song you linked.
WHY THE FUCK DO YOU EVEN RECOMMEND THIS SHIT?! SOMEONE MIGHT ACTUALLY WANT TO WATCH IT! Somewhere the realism just got tied up and raped. Either the directing sucks or writing does or the actors do. God the acting in this movie reminds me of The Room. Gary Oldman is the only half-decent actor.
edit: after finishing the movie, overall it wasn't bad, but the directing brought down the enjoyment of the film in every way.
2. Who fed warwick?
3. I watched the swedish version of Girl with the Dragon tattoo and I thought it was pretty good. The acting was phenomenal but I didn't enjoy the story too much. I don't think I can watch the translation now. The movie to me now, is the Swedish version. If I watch the English version I'll just keep comparing the two.
Funny story. I came across the Swedish dub trying to find the new one online. I thought that the movie had already been released and someone put a version online so I watched it.
The girl with the dragon tattoo was simply fucking amazing, I was sitting up at the theaters to find out whats gonna happen next. That's how excited I was lol

Why did you like the movie so much? Your rating is at least a bit off from that of either the link you posted or rottentomatoes.
Just saw it. 9/10
edit: I want to take a point back for the above move but I won't.
Today I started watching Restrepo. Got bored a quarter of the way through.
Trust: 9/10 I never would have understood why people take on a role of protecting their abusers. Why people don't report bad things that happen to them. Acting is just phenomenal.
Watched Green Lantern recently, wasn't anything special, although I did notice SC2 being watched on one of the monitor screens in the movie :D Effects and such were cool, but the plot was quite bad ^^. 6/10
It was okay, but I expected much more from it... 5.5/10
Although I don't like Indian movies this one was great. A comedy with tragic elements that could make you cry if there weren't these stupid songs in it. 9/10
I saw Colombiana today. If you want action, it's not bad. Unfortunately it's plagued by overly convenient situations and a lot of unrealistic computer usage. In fact, a huge portion of the story progresses due to nonsensical usage of technology. If you have ever used a computer before (all of you) don't bother with this movie. The movie was well directed, some of the actors were great, and it had some very memorable action scenes.. but there were way to many "what? why would that.. oh right it's a movie" moments for me to recommend it.
I don't want to rate this movie. It was nicely done and acted. CGI was great. The problem with it is that I've seen this story so many times already that it was completely predictable and on the verge of boring.
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
Pretty decent spy movie. I liked how it was done but it was no Three Days of Condor or anything groundbreaking. Worth seeing anyway. Gary Oldman once again proves how great of an actor he is (and the cast in this movie is pretty mindblowing). I also liked the fact that this movie had no "beautiful people" in it.
Lately I started watching korean movies after I saw how good was Oldboy. I watched two more movies, Mother and Memories of Murder.
Mother
A good movie, I wonder why the korean writers really love to have a retarded boy in the movies, anyone got an explantion for this? I thought there were a bit boring moments in the movie which could have been done but it was ok, Overall the plot was really intresting, not the best movie I've seen recently but a good one nonetheless.
Memories of Murder
Great movie, I loved everything really, the funny little things, the really interesting and well developed story. Loved the changes the characters go through while the story develops. Again with the retard boy in the movie who gets blamed right away.
Anyone got an explanation for the love of the writers to use retard boys in the movies? wiredest shit O_o
btw, looking for alternative present movies like children of men, v for vendetta etc, would love to get some recommendations.

Not all of them are alternate present, some are based on parallel universe:
Guys can I propose to use www.rottentomatoes.com if you link a movie instead of imdb. Imdb is pretty random and usually movies are way overated, RT is leaning towards pretentious with all its fancy critics and stuff but it's much more accurate.
