A story about two very different iranian couple, moral uncertainty, with a very smart plot and one of the best acting I have ever seen. ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/rtbcK.jpg) Just rewatched this Kitano movie, which I love. Absolutely moving story, and very smartly filmed. ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/rBDWP.jpg) A classic. A beautiful pacifist manifesto, very easy to watch and yet extremely smart too. Eric Von Stroheim and Pierre Fresnay are stunning. The humanism is palpable. | ||

If you compare it to movies like Three Days of Condor or even Spy Game, which are both relatively slow paced and spy-centric, it seems kind of bland and uninspired. | ||

Overall I kinda liked it. Yeah, it's really improbable the way she goes about killing everyone and escaping from places but whatever. I do have a thing for Zoe Saldana though, that helped lol. | ||

So no hidden wires pulling the actors or other typical tricks used for action scenes | ||

I guess this has parallels with our justice system and whether we should put criminals down too. Doesn't force anything on you. Good to watch. Nice action sequences and cohesive plot. Better than most of the other animated movies. | ||

First half hour was a little too artsy for my taste. After that it settles into a very powerful movie. I did not expect to like it as much as i did. Great film, didn't need to try as hard at being artsy as it did. | ||

I must say I enjoyed it and I like what they did with the remake. I also like the fact that there are more movies coming out that go back to the original Nosferatu theme, where vampires are real monsters, unfazed by any motion of morality (30 Days of Night series for example). | ||

I would rate it highly, but don't watch it if you want to feel warm and fuzzy  Quite a good look at the lives of Chinese illegal immigrants to Japan. I probably felt it more because I'm learning Mandarin, but it was so brutal!8.0/10 | ||
