Good watch if your into thrillers with an absolutely messed up story line like Old Boy. 9/10 Also Watched Memories of Murder from someones post above ![[image loading]](http://www.asiatorrents.com/imgz/images/memoriesof.jpg) Too slow for my liking with nothing much happening through out. I guess it was based off a true story so i didnt expect anything unrealistic. 6/10 Anyone else recommend some top asian movies? Preferably ones which would have eng subtitles.
These 2 are the next movies I'm going to watch, Same with me, Oldboy got me hocked onto Korean movies.
Anyway I watch these two:

2001: A Space Odyssey A good movie, You can see they've put an effort into making the movie as scientifically accurate as possible although there was one problematic scene but all in all I loved the science accuracy aspect of the movie. The ending was a big shock, it was kinda hard to figure it out. Me and my friend had to read some about the movie on Wiki, and we probably should read the book to get a better explanation. Basically a none conventional movie even for today.
Magnolia First of all, I loved it. The movie have a big cast names in it and I think everyone done a really really good job. The movie starts and keeps a rapid pace of events with the soundtrack that just gets you in to it really well, since the first quarter of the movie I had the feeling that now it's all going to connect. There was this scene that was iffy, where everyone started to sing the same song which fits but I personally hate that kind of scene. The soundtrack was awesome, doing its job very well.
Anyway first post here, my english is pretty bad so show some mercy :D

I recently saw The Girl With The Dragoon Tatoo and was pretty disappointed. It's fincher's worst film by far.

100% agree. I'm not a huge sports movie fan either, but this was definitely the best movie I've seen this year. Everyone should go see this while it's still in theaters

Warrior (2011) A movie about 2 brothers who fight in MMA/King of the Cage I will admit I don't know jack squat about MMA/KotC but I LOVED! this movie it was very well acted by Tom Hardy, Joel Edgerton, and Nick Nolte who played the father of the two brothers. The film is done very well while the end maybe predictable the acting and MMA scenes carry you through this intense awesome movie. 9.5/10 A MUST SEE
9.5!?
That movie was not almost a 10 (10 being perfect)..
The plot and story was so predictable it's not even funny.
Hardy's acting was supreme and I think he portrayed the character very well, obviously. I wasn't fully satisfied with some things. For example: I really wanted to see how Tommy (Hardy's character) would hold up against Koba.
The end left me with a sense of non-completeness. Not in the manner of wanting more, just closure. It wasn't even an open ending, just unspecified.
Anyway, for me, this movie is ~7/10 if I'd have to rate it.
The acting from Hardy is up there with Heath's Joker imo. I should add I'm not usually a fan of his acting but he did this exceptionally in this particular title!
Anyway!
I've recently seen
![[image loading]](http://content7.flixster.com/movie/26/78/267897_det.jpg)
From IMDB: "A paranoid mathematician searches for a key number that will unlock the universal patterns found in nature." Directed by Aronofsky.
I'm not sure what to say about this movie. It's a decent movie. If you're heavily in to math chances are you will enjoy it more than if you aren't. Then again, if you are, you will be able to spot the factual errors, which doesn't ruin the movie but certainly degrades it considering it is about math, permutations and a universal solution.
I won't go any further, if you're into math you should definitely see it. If you aren't.. Maybe you will be able to relate to his struggle is some other way.

6.5/10
![[image loading]](http://www.filmparadiset.se/wp-content/gallery/posters/the-inbetweeners-movie-poster.jpg)
From IMDB: "Four socially troubled 18-year-olds from the south of England go on holiday to Malia." Directed by Ben Palmer
I've never really seen the TV-series, but this movie is fucking awful. Stay away, it fails in pretty much every respect except for having one pretty girl, if that's what make or break it for you.

You should see Bronson to get a glimpse of what Hardy is really capable of.

Will do, thanks.

For those who like torture cinema:
The Hostel series, ending with Hostel Part 3 which appears to be independently made, but was good none of the less. One of the most intense torture scenes ever. And if you like a lot of gore shit piss and puke, go with independent movie called "Carver".
from IMBD: Based on a true story, Carver depicts the real life events of five 20-something's that went camping in the mountain town of Halcyon Ridge and never returned.

I'll be seeing Warhorse tomorrow, will edit this post with my thoughts. I have decent expectations

Saw Drive, it was a slick movie.. but it was over before I knew it. I wish it had more going on..
For people who have seen the new Dragon Tattoo movie.. how does it compare to the Swedish one?

Giving the Coen Brothers a closer look at the moment. "Miller's Crossing" was awesome.
Also it's like a christmas tradition to watch Sergio Leone stuff. Man i really miss those well crafted slower paced movies.

As a huge fan of 2001, I would recommend not reading the book. Though it pretty much just "explains" everything, for me atleast it spoils a lot of the mystery and ambiguity of the film. The book is just mediocre hard sci-fi, the movie is a piece of art.

Warrior was relatively decent. I'm a huge fan of Tom Hardy so I was sold.

Colombiana
Movie had alot of potential. Story and acting got unconvincing towards the end but was saved by Zoe Saldana's hotness. 5.5/10

Arrow: The Ultimate Weapon OR War of the Arrows
Usually, when we have historical action movies, you usually see one of two different weapons being featured mainly: swords and guns. This one shows how deadly a bow can be in the hands of a skilled archer, and why it was the weapon which conquered empires prior to advances in gun technology and production (second part, not so much; but that's just me putting some historical context there). There's some character development in the protagonist, and it's a nonstop ride from the moment the action kicks off till the very end. Would definitely recommend it, even if some of the action is a little over the top.

I really tried to watch it but I just couldn't stand this movie and dropped it about halfway through. Inaccuracies and all the dumb stuff that happens during action scenes (both in melee and those involving bows) are horrible. You can have such things if the action is truly over the top and from the get go you make your characters do the impossible. This movie tries to be serious but fails. The plot is worthless, the action makes you facepalm yourself when it happens and overall I see no point to this movie.
@ Sitinte: You are aware of course that bows existed long before swords --- about 8-9k years before (so they couldn't be the weapon that conquered empires and made swords and armour obsolete), you also completely forgot about crossbows and other devices that were being used and developed prior to introduction of gunpowder weapons.
Edit:

Mission Impossible IV: Ghost Protocol
Totally over the top action movie. Awesome.

Yes, I'm aware. I'm overexaggerating and left information out, think of it as movie hype. I was also thinking along the lines of the crossbow during the movie, since they were being seen in Europe and Asia at the time this movie is supposed to be taking place. But I did base my claims off the use of the bow in the hands of the Mongols, even though this movie has nothing to do with them and there were far more attributing features to the Mongols being able to conquer as much as they did such as their tactics and use of horses. Again, it's just hype, nothing more, nothing less. To each their own. And now I'm just derailing this thread. :/
