And no one thought about the biggest fleet in Westeros that already caused you massive headaches on multiple occasions? The fact that they even make this argument to explain their need for deus ex machina solutions to the dragons is downright insulting. What exactly is Varys job if not to know the location of everyone's army/fleet? They actually mention the fleet at the table meeting which makes it even more hilarious.

My strategy to enjoy the show, at least to a certain extent, is to think that GRRM wrote down the cliff notes of how he plans to finish the books and DD are just connecting them in any way they can. So Im not expecting things to make sense nor Im expecting proper setup and payoff. There's always the off chance I might be pleasantly surprised, but Im not holding my breath. With all eagerness Im awaiting the episode breakdowns by DD and the memes that will follow. That's the best thing right now :D

Well the show is still fun to watch visually for me. I'll just ignore the plot in the last two eps and hope we see some cool shit at least

If you think there’s plot within the last two episodes... <insert Ramsey meme here>
Ahh yes, we got the memes at least. I especially like this one: + Show Spoiler +
|
The best part of this season are the memes so far, i love the "kinda forgot" ones a lot
examples: + Show Spoiler +

I can agree that memes coming out of this season were the best part.

What's really sad is the way they decided to approach this season.
1. Let's blow all the budget on the pointless battle early on where you can't see shit and nothing meaningful happens. 2. Let's kill/send off more CGI creatures in stupid manner soon after, to cut down on the costs. 3. Profit???
I don't know why they even bothered including Ghost in this season. He was there a couple of times for a few seconds on the screen doing absolutely nothing. I'd understand if they'd shown him mauling undead in some cool fashion (Ghost should be the one to kill the undead giant somehow in an epic CGI battle) but no, all we get is him standing somewhere to the side and not even looking interested in anything...
|
I think they purposely made the battle happen at night to save money on CGI (no neede to generate hordes of zombies if you hide them in darkness), so there's still a chance for something visually cool to happen. It's also possible their budget wasn't actually that big and Arya will just assassinate Cersei.

If this happens I think I might have an aneurysm tonight. It would've worked before she got the NK, now it would just be pathetically lazy writing.
I'm really trying to throw them a bone here and think that they've actually got some kind of cool twist still up their sleeve. Personally, I'm predicting that Cersei is obviously one of Arya's targets but she won't succeed in killing her, that's all one big misdirection. I think Sansa has secretly sent Arya on an assignment to assassinate Dany. To me that just fits in tying up everything that they've given us so far.
As for Cersei, my guess is it's either Euron or Jamie, predictable and meh. Better death for her would be the Red Keep be destroyed and Cersei being torn apart by the masses of King's Landing as she tries to flee. THAT would be a fitting end for her.

Their treatment of Ghost is the thing I can't forgive. HBO would have given them the money to do whatever they wanted. Budget isn't an issue. They just thought that 6 episodes was all they needed for the final season.
But the fucking assholes couldn't put in the tiniest bit of effort into getting good dogs for the final couple seasons. Go to a zoo and ask to borrow a large wolf for shooting for a day or two. A simple google search says that there is a wolf sanctuary in the shropsire hills in the uk. I get it that they're not proportional to the book but no one will give the slightest shit about the stark wolves when they are real good boys having fun.

Making the direwolves CGI was such a producing mistake
|
As someone that has never read the books, I don't get why people make such a fuss about the Wolves... Aside from symbolism they barely had any important parts? Bran might as well just control a random Direwolve and not his "Familywolve", all else, why are they important? Being the "stark banner animal" does not count.
|
Earlier I expected Cersei to kill herself by jumping from a tower at some point of the story, that would make sense considering she almost poisoned herself and Tommen in season 2 when Stannis was storming King's Landing. Now I'm convinced someone will have to kill Cersei because the writers will want to make her death somehow similar to the Mad King's death. I hope the Kingslayer won't kill her, that would be ridiculous.

But they're important of being good doggos. All scenes with him would be better. The entire seventh season would be better if he always had the worfer next to him. The battle of the bastards where the dire wolf crests the hill with sansa before the valeish knights arrive. Ramsey boltens dogs being forced to bend the knee dog style before he dies. The Direwolves interaction with the dragons
They're showpieces that add variety to a scene and take the dramatic weight off the shoulders of other characters.

I rather have good doggos than dragons. That’s how far this show has digressed.

Rewatching the final scene of last episode, that tiny squad of unsullied looks extremely silly. Cersei could send cavalry out and capture them all so easily.
(assuming she can't kill them with the ballistae for local geneva convention reasons or something)

Ouch, seems those leaks were true :D

I miss the days when I looked forward to GoT Sundays 🙁🙁

Well the writers thought that maybe Cersei's character should change for convenience and pageantry. One second she's blowing up a sept full of people, the next she's letting the only people who can take her power away live. Cause... reasons.

My liveblog no one cares about + Show Spoiler +So the scorpions now suddenly have a 0% accuracy rate. I uhh, don't get why Dany is triggered by bells. This scene reeks of trying too hard to be shocking and to capitalize on Dany's heel turn. RIP Euron, not even your actor liked you very much. Cleganebowl finally. The whole Arya scene really felt like their attempt to evoke 9/11 imagery. Maybe I'm reading too much into it. Kind of fitting two of some of the best actors (Lena and Nikolaj) die together.
