I still feel Cersei isn't casted as well though.
+ Show Spoiler [next couple episodes] +I'm glad that Jory is getting more significant screentime now; Most people who haven't read the books wouldn't have known him from an extra until today's episode, so + Show Spoiler + is going to have a lot more impact.
Also, unrelated: + Show Spoiler [about the Mountain and his upcoming ro…] +Is he still going to kill + Show Spoiler + him? I don't remember if that happens during jousting or the melee

Looks like we've made it through the relatively boring warm up episodes and are well and truly into the mix of things.
|
+ Show Spoiler +I'm pretty sure he kills his horse after losing to Loras during the jousting. Then the Hound steps in when he attacks Loras.

This just keeps getting better and better !

I liked the first 3 eps a notch more. Still awesome tho. Glad to see Theon get some screen time. Wasn't initially too impressed by the casting for him but sees he might pull it off just fine.

Shits just got real - swords got drawn!

I saw the first ep.... I'm a longtime fan of books. Unfortunately I was not really happy with the first episode. Production value was quite high, and Eddard is great. The king and Bran and Arya were good too, and Cersei might just be the best actress on the show. But Jaime was awful. Lady Stark was meh. And worst of all, my favorite character (Tyrion) was too cheery. In the books I always found him too bitter/cynical/devious, but he just seems a little too well adjusted in the show.
There were too many moments of cheese for me to get into it (the generic medieval music played during the feast made me facepalm), all of the kal-drogo stuff, but the story is awesome (obviously...). I'm hoping this is just the typical bad pilot that turns into a great series.

Rome was canned because of costing to much, and using special effects like Lord of the Rings is costing loads.

Jaime's character really begins to look a lot better as the episodes go on. Tyrion gets better too, although personally I thought he was great in episode one. Catelyn is Catelyn, I don't think you could expect much for that character.

Does someone still have a link to the tyrion slapping joffrey gif ? I tried looking for it but cant find it in the thread. Im still readying the books and I really wanna see him get slapped at the moment.

I've caught up with all four episodes and have been floored by how good this show.
Love the feeling of immersion you get from this series as it does a good job of covering several characters. Still, if there's one minor complaint I do have, it would also have to be that very detailed pacing. I'm sure avid fans of the books appreciate how close the series stays true, but I feel that certain actors have been stealing the show (Jon Snow, Arya, Tyrion) and I get rather disappointed another Targaryen scene comes up.
Oh well.. can't wait for the next Sunday!

So far I think all the actors are doing good jobs. They might not compared to the books though, but it's definitely working for me. It'd be weird giving khal drago an emmy, so far all he's done is have sex with the khaleesi one and grunt.

I'm going to read all the books at some point, really like this series.

wow looks like shit hits the fan next episode

I felt the same way while reading the books about the Targaryen scenes. The way the other plotlines intertwine makes them more interesting at least at this point. Daenerys'(sp.) story does get more interesting but I usually stopped reading the books on those chapters.
Also, does anyone know if there is a way to make your sc2 background that gif?

i got hyped for ep 5

Same, I always looked forward to the Eddard, Tyrion or Jon chapters, and usually quit reading for the night when Bran, Sansa or Daenery's came up, at least in Book 1.

I always get so immersed that I want the pov to continue no matter the person. Some exceptions but generally I wanted to continue. Especially Arya chapters.

Okay stupid question again, but that place where these 4 guys are practicing with the swords (also the fat guy came there), are they some kind of villains or what are they? Why are they there? I got the idea that they are there for punishment or something and then sent to army/war. Though, i wouldn't be surprised if im wrong lol.
I should pay more attention to the show..
