First her father gets killed, then all this affair with Joffrey and now she's imprisoned by this mad bitch. Poor girl. It's her own fucking fault. She shouldn't have fucking ratted Ned out to Cersei. "Oh PLEASE don't take me away from my darling Prince Joffrey and my glamorous life at court....." She was a dumb, stupid naive teenage girl. If she had just kept her mouth shut she might still have two parents AND an older brother to say nothing of the countless of commoners and lesser lords that have died in the war. I've been waiting since the first episode for Sansa to stop being so lame. Not that she isn't an interesting character in her own way, but she has no backbone whatsoever. In a world inhabited by so many strong female characters, Cersei, Catelyn Stark, Brienne, Shae etc. there's a whole story line around a girl who can't do anything to help herself. Sansa literally has no power over anything in her life. Since basically the first season she's been in a position where simply saying something out of line could get her killed. She acted stupid for a little while in the beginning, and has spent around three seasons of the show paying for it. She's been told (wrongly) every member of her immediate family has been killed, and has been mocked over and over for it. Her home was burned to the ground. She's now on her third arranged marriage, to another person she doesn't want to marry. She has nothing at all right now. I mean, if you can't at least pity someone in that position, you don't have much empathy.
You know if she was a girl living in my day and age I probably could, but she's living in a period where she's lucky to even be alive, or better yet, alive and HIGHBORN.
Think of all the girls her age in Westeros caught up in the war that are even more powerless than she is. They end up raped or dead while she ends up insulted, ridiculed, humiliated and depressed but at the very least alive and unharmed.
You can pity her sure, but I'd argue if I were a character living in this world, pity would be an emotion I'd have to discard else it gets my own ass killed.

My jaw literally dropped when Lysa and Littlefinger planned Jon's death from the very start. Like holy shit.
Speaking of which, how does Cersei and Jaime fit into that assassination plot? I was pretty convinced they were the ones who poisoned Jon, but Lysa said something like "Putting the drops in the cup". So Im assuming she was the one who literally did it, and Jaime and Cersei sanctioned it? I dont even know.
But then the plot thickens when you think that both jon and ned died right after they discovered about the inbreds, lol.

edit: Im also super happy about the new Brienne x Pod duo. Its like having a second Arya x Hound pairing. This is what the show needs for comic relief, I love it.
What makes you think Jaime and Cersei were involved? Because Jon was working to reveal their "secret"? I don't recall any evidence that suggested they plotted it.

regarding the lysas assasination on her husband jon aryn plott twist, like littlefinger said last episode: "Always keep your foes confused. If they are never certain who you are or what you want, they cannot know what you are like to do next. Sometimes the best way to baffle them is to make moves that have no purpose, or even seem to work against you."
littlefinger is like the genius villian working from behind the scenes, pulling all the strings. my favorite character right now.

I was under the impression that Cersei and Jaime were the plotters since Season 1 ep 1. Even Ned came to that conclusion, but recalling the scene when he confronted Cersei about it she didnt confirm or deny it.

really liking all the characters' dialogue and growth-- except Dany Targaryen. Oh jesus fuck that scene with Jorah was cringe-worthy. "I WILL DO AS QUEENS DO. I WILL RULE." (for no reason paces out to the balcony and holds a cliche power pose to get some kind of cinematic shot).
Does anyone know what Catalyn's sister was talking about before LittleFinger kissed her about how he warned Cat about the Lannisters?

In the pilot of the show, Catelyn receives a letter brought by a rider late at night. The letter is from Lysa (her sister) and says she has returned to the Vale, and that the Lannisters were responsible for her husband's death. It's one of the reasons why Ned decided to go to King's Landing.

Ned came to that conclusion when Catelyn received a letter from her sister where she says the Lannisters killed Jon. Littlefinger spurred Lysa to write this letter (check the dialogue between Littlefinger and Lysa again). He wanted the Lannisters to get the blame for the death of Jon Arryn, and he succeeded.
There was also a nice hint in season One where they said poison was a eunuch and woman's weapon.

I think he meant the woman part.
Anyway, that line was given by Pycell to Ned when Ned asked about Jon Arryn. If anything it enforced Ned's belief the Lannisters (specifically, Cersei) were behind the murder. And Pycell probably mentioned the eunuch part because he hates Varys.

would anyone honestly dare to oppose you when you have 3 fucking DRAGONS flying around in the sky?? Once she takes kings landing who in their right mind would take up arms against her(except stannis at dragonstone). may as well wait until drogon gets this big and just conquer the world by yourself.

The Targaryen for who knows how many generations didn't seem to mind that, no one opposed them as long as they had dragons.

After all the original Targaryans conquered Westeros being outnumbered by a ridiculous factor simply because their dragons could roast entire armies with impunity. How are Westerosi going to take down a dragon once it is big enough that arrows don't do anything anymore?
|
They need the Black Arrows from Bard. Not sure if he still has some left.
|
Maybe they could use ballistae or nets to bring them down. And there's also magic and worging which we don't really know how powerful they can be.
|
I love any scene with the hound and arya, they're brilliant together.
And as for the dragons I think it would be possible to kill them in theory but if you tried half your army would desert and the other half would just shit their pants and miss every arrow or ballista shot.

Littlefinger's face when Lysa reveals she had a priest waiting right behind the door was priceless.
Also, was kind of expecting Ghost to jump on top of Jon for a happy embrace after being separated for so long... instead Ghost was like "Sup?". I guess CGI is expensive.
Edit: The Hound moved faster than I've ever seen him move when he realized Arya was missing, even during fights. Lots of funny stuff.
