Maximum scriptedness would be: they all know the winner in advance and read a text when they speak. Minimum scriptedness would be: each participant is given individual hidden cues like "go talk to Kim Bla bla in room A" or "you could use X strat to win the game, you can discuss it with another player" and they record the relevant clutch conversations and events. Only part that ever felt scripted to me was after they announce the title of the main game, they zoom in on someone's confused/dumbfounded face lol. Other than that it seems like the show producers just told the players to always be speaking their minds so that they can have enough good material to patch together.

They clearly have been addressing some of the problems over later seasons to make it clear that the games are not fixed or rigged to help a particular person win (EDIT: or make it less obvious or harder to spot). As with most reality TV, it's hard to know how much conversations are flowing organically versus being fed to some degree by the producers, although they clearly place snacks and drinks strategically before the games start to force people to talk and probably they're told to discuss and explain the games.

Well, the finals are kind of expected considering the editors and writers have continuously built up the hype of a possible Hyunmin and Dongmin clash. While Dongmin showed some impressive feats, he's more than lucky to have made it this far. Especially his very first death match should've stopped his run, and seeing him being proud not going down against Yeonjoo (the throw was real) feels pretty weak to me. He's done well coming this far and contributed a lot to achieve it, but I can't help but feel that people like Yoohyun, Yeonseung and Jongbum should've been in Dongmin's spot. There's a reason for them dropping out while Dongmin's still around, but I would've liked to see Dongmin fighting his way through to the finals without someone as impressive as Hyunmin simply because he got carried by his dongsaeng quite often. That being said, I'd be very surprised to see Dongmin winning against Hyunmin. It seems unlikely

It seems unlikely Honestly, if the genius was all about simple mathematical calculation then that may have been the case, but as social skills are taken to account it adds up for dongmin to be in the finals. Besides, he's clearly not bad at these games either, though yeonseung would probably be stronger on some games. Still, Hyunmin allied up with dongmin for a reason. He had enough to offer that it would benefit both of them, and he had enough input too. Still, I do think that we got the best finals we could get, even if the editors happen to hype it up more than its worth. Maybe they do, maybe they don't. Hyunmin is really imperssive. Once again he sees through a game right off the bat, if his opponent didn't make careful preparations for that in mind, he's doomed. What a guy.

+ Show Spoiler + Amazing amazing amzigng final! Be patient and do not click on the next spoiler if you havent seen it yet.+ Show Spoiler + THAT was rather impressive win by DongMin. I underestimated him by a large margin. For me, this has been the best finals yet. Also, this episode shows you Dongmin's greatest strength which is his ability to make allies. It sure paid off big time. I was fairly disappointed by the last two finals, but this one really hit the spot for me. Enjoyed this season very much, hope to see the next season soon. EDIT: Deleted how awesome this episode was for me outside the spoiler so that people don't watch with too high of expectation. Lower the expectation, the better it gets!

The difference in items 8:3 stripped down Hyunmin's chance of winning and belittled Dongmin's win. After watching the episode, I'm still not sure Dongmin was the better player unlike the 2 previous finals.

Dongmin was a good match for Hyunmin even in the first game he lost in, and he did not use item to reverse move, likely due to pride. I thought Dongmin would lose badly in the second game, but I was wrong. He showed great finesse to win a game which tested both maths and memory, something we would think Hyunmin would blaze through comfortably. In the third game, Dongmin even guessed Hyunmin's move for the card that was given to only Hyunmin. Hyunmin was visibly deflated and made a bad mistake in rushing a fatal move, and he never recovered. I find this final even more exciting than the previous two seasons' as both players were on par most of the time in their moves and counter-moves.

I was very critical of dong min's game earlier due to his poor performances in main matches, getting carried all the time by hyun min and really deserving to be eliminated in his only deathmatch, but he finally made up for all that with his performance in the finals... Damn, when he called that double during the second match, got goosebumps... Was also very surprised by how many supporters he had amongst his competitors, thought the assists would be much more even than what it was... Congratz to the winner and hopefully 2nd place finisher can try again next season....

The finals were satisfying. On pure logic and calculation, hyunmin was better but the games measure more than that, it's also social genius and mind games and memory. Hyunmin is clearly stronger in some aspects, but dongmin did great and he was never the big underdog imo. The bonuspoints etc gained through items also measured social skill, but he did win by a larger margin than 2 or 3 so it's fine (though it surely got on huynmins nerves)

Throughout the season I was always frustrated that the contestants didn't do enough to spoil the Hyunmin/Dongmin finale pact, but that was a very impressive performance by both players. At first I thought the 8:3 advantage would completely spoil the finale, but it didn't turn out like that. Although Dongmin had superior intel for the final game, Hyunmin was aware of his knowledge and it was really a mindgame battle. Dongmin showed he was much stronger at mindgames than Hyunmin and won by that skill.
