MMLP2 will replace Yeezus for best (rap?) album of 2013
and it's been a good year for music and Yeezus is bangin
Indeed nothing beats his early stuff, Eminem is still the king in my book (im very bias though xD). I have too high hopes for MMLP2, and i hope it blows everyone out of the water!
I think Drakes album is going to top Yeezus, also i think even Jay Z's is going to beat Yeezus xD I also personally think all 3 albums were very sub par, and i think most people agree'd in this thread that all 3 only had 2-3 decent tracks on them which is a shame
a Rap/HipHop station in England is hosting its weekly tour of England and tonight! (sometime over the next 90minutes) 2 CHAINZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ will be performing live. Im sure it will be funny xD and worth watching.

Can someone explain why Drake is even popular to begin with?? His lyrics are weak and his flow is not that original. He has no rep (from a canadian TELEVISION show) and what he has he doesn't rep - never heard a Canada rhyme. He's not from the bottom and acts like he's had it as bad as the rest of the Rap game players, so he's a poser. Good connections so he is on lots of hot tracks, but it's always someone else achieving greatness while Drizzy is just meh.. The sound of his voice is pretty unique but not enough for this longevity.
Anyone got non-clown Drake songs?? Prove me wrong plz? I liked Headlines when it first came out.
actually i think Jay-Z's new album is very good, it's not up there with his very best (Reasonable Doubt, Blueprint 1, Black Album) but it's a very solid album. Yeezus is absolutely terrible and unlistenable. Drake bores me to death but i can see why people like him. the Pound Cake beat is absolutely amazing, shame about the verses him and Jay decided to spit over that. Em's new album clearly has the potential to be amazing, but unfortunately it also has the potential to be another Encore or something... i'm hoping for the best, especially with the ambitious title, but i gotta say i'm doubtful unfortunately.

I like how, whenever a new Eminem album comes out, everyone rages because it's not the mmlp. Every album has been different from the other ones, but I guess Eminem just finally said "Fuck it, you want another mmlp, here ya go, assholes."
Almost every Eminem album has followed a formula of putting out a "silly" single first, with the exception of Recovery and The Slim Shady EP. The single "Bezerk" follows this rule, and for everyone saying how "shitty" it is - remember "Just Lose It"? And then everyone threw a hissy fit over "We Made You" off Relapse. I even saw in some Youtube comments (never read these, it will just piss you off) some guy going "Recovery was pretty whack." and I wanted to slap him. And another guy going "I own every Eminem album, including Infinite [Because this is so rare nowadays] and I will definitely not be buying mmlp2". Are you fucking kidding me?
Obviously, I'm not going to win anyone over, but I've thoroughly enjoyed every Eminem album and mixtape, and I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy this one too, unless all the tracks on the album are just a continuous farting noise, which would still be pretty hilarious. Also, the single "Survival" is pretty fucking good, and the whole Bad Meets Evil album was really really good. I personally am quite excited for the new Eminem album.
Note: I was not paid by Eminem to say any of this, I just really fucking love Eminem.
I really enjoy Bezerk i don't think it is that silly XD but i agree Survival is pure quality! I was reading some article the other night about how Eminem is going to so many lengths to make sure his album doesn't get leaked. He invited someone to come listen to a track from the album to do some cover art work or something, he was saying he had to listen to it in the back of Paul's car (Eminem's manager) as he is so paranoid about getting it leaked xD Fair play to him, even though i do it.....(you know what i mean :3) im glad people go to lengths to stop them doing it! This 1xtra live is pretty good. Naughty Boy had like everybody on his set just! Oh ok this Azonto dancing is a bit cringe worthy haha

link in my signature has writeups for drake's last 2 albums but essentially for me, it's because he's not afraid to bring his own shit into his music. i mean he's not exactly a great rapper by any means but you can't just look at him like that and judge him as a rapper (even though he tries hard to be one lol). his best songs are when he's half rapping and half singing (literally either half and half or his voice is a bit of both) and he's most on point when his subject matter is conceptual (about the struggles of being famous) or personal (about his family).
he makes a lot of songs about girls but that's not such a bad thing.

cause drake aint a rapper, he's a pop artist good for those belligerent club bangin moments
'Hold On, We're Going Home' is legitimately a damn good track though. Honestly I wouldn't even know it's a Drake track if nobody told me.

hov's album could've been titled 'Fluff & Fillers' lol
yeezus should've been 12 tracks of Bound2
Why is nobody talking about the better half of clipse My Name is My Name dropped today and Pusha & Co go hard
Pusha's new album was good. Jay Z's new album was the most disappointing IMO, both production wise and lyrically. You could tell that he phoned it in and didn't really give a fuck. Yeezus was alright, I like a couple tracks off there. Disappointing relative to my expectations but not completely terrible.
Drake makes pop not hip hop. I've never listened to his earlier hip hop mixtapes but apparently they're pretty good. His pop stuff annoys the hell out of me, I don't mind songs about girls, I enjoy listening to The Weeknd every now and then, but Drake sounds so fucking sad and depressed in all of his music. But he's rich, gets to play sold out shows on tour and has millions of girls that would come running in a heartbeat if he asked them to. He should get over that girl that rejected him and the guys who bullied him in highschool.
That or when he decides to stop being tender and comes out with some "You might get shot" type songs when he grew up in a middle class household in Canada and was a child TV star.
I like 5am in Toronto and Hold on We're Going Home though.
I haven't listened to Danny Brown's new album yet but I'm pretty excited to.
Drake makes good sad breakup/ex-gf music if you're into that. He can spit some but chooses not to, mostly because he's only above average at best in that respect and his sing-rap is more unique and popular.
Yeah I was gonna mention 5am in Toronto as an example of his rapping. As I said, not the best but he could definitely do it if he chose to.
I liked Old a lot, the "Side A" and "side B" halves of the album leading to 2 kind of styles in the album was a neat concept and he sounds great in both.
