If you look at him from another perspective and recognize he caters to broader pop audiences more than a rather niche hip hop community, then it's not difficult to understand why he makes such soft rap tracks. and if we're being pedantic, actual pop is mutually exclusive from rap. pop draws its roots from rock and roll ffs.

I always felt like Drakes delivery was a big part of his success. He speaks very concisely and clearly and its very easy to understand what he's trying to say. This point I like and I think is also a lot of what has made Kanye so big too. So much easier to rap along and want to hit repeat when remembering the lyrics come easily. to the windooooooooooowwws

![]() So TMMLP2 tracklist has come out.... http://rapradar.com/2013/10/10/eminem-the-marshall-mathers-lp-2-tracklist-2/ and its made me very sad. Survival is on the album, a Rihanna feature, a Sklar Grey feature, a feature from the lead singer of Fun. ![]() ![]() I dont even mind poppy rap, but Eminem has never demonstrated the ability to use singers like them in a good way at all. From the tracklist I would have predicted this as a Recovery II, I'd have thought that he was also keep some of the signature skits of the original one as well, Public Service Announcement, Paul, Ken Kaniff, Steve Berman etc. At leasts its gonna have a Kendrick feature, and I know that he's gonna try super hard on that.

Yeah I have the terrible feeling I'm going to be super disappointed by the album. I grew up on old Eminem

Very underwhelming IMO

tbh i like that tracklist because it has very few features and i'm not a huge fan of albums that feel more like compilation mixtapes. and the features that are there, are either good singers or Kendrick Lamar so i can't front on that.

Skyler Grey song could be good, i liked anything she has done with Em over the past few years. Looking very interested in the Kendric Lemar track, he is inform rapper right now, could be sick.

I can see the female singers thing, also people have heard Survival and Berserk and didn't like either of them. That coupled with people doubting he can really make a sequel to MMLP have people being negative.

Lyrically that is one of the best i've heard from Eminem in years, nice beat to it as well :S I don't know many people in this thread that have called those songs bad XD Well, I go on some other rap forums, and the response to Survival has been negative. It was also expected that the song would be a bonus exclusively on the COD edition of the Album. Its not that pop singers on hooks are inherently bad, its just that Eminem has never really shown the ability to use them well at all(someone like Kanye West has on the other hand). Its also weird that they are on MMLP2, cause around that time Em was still known for singing about rapping pop stars, and now on the sequel they're on his album. Em and Kendrick could be great, yeah. In general I have no problem with features, but MMLP had D12, Dre, Snoop, Xxzibit, Sticky Fingaz and Nate Dogg on a hook. You'd expect the sequel to have some kind of continuity with that.

1. Eminem doesn't use them well 2. He's supposed to be going back to his mmlp2 shit, and to me that has to come with a certain anti pop sentiment. Having female pop singers on there argues that he's not gonna be about that.
