In response what Anita said to Mike: challenge accepted. In response to what Rachel said to Louis at the end of the episode: she's going to really struggle to actually become a lawyer now. In response to the relationship between Louis and Harvey, clearly neither of them are ready to run the firm, although it's nice to see Louis being appropriately reflective and actually seeming like he will go in a better direction. Still not sure how worthwhile the show will be with Mike in la la land. Also DarkPlasmaBall, what did you think of the classroom scenes? It seemed to be written by people who don't really understand classroom dynamics that well, but I might just be impossible to placate in that regard anymore :p

As far as classroom dynamics goes, isn't this a religious prep school? Since when are there classes full of delinquents, let alone those who go from being complete nightmares to being delights in two days? I teach at a private school and my fiancee went to a private Catholic school, and there were never any classroom management/ behavioral issues; the parents would ring their kids' necks if there were. Perhaps these kids were foster kids or something, and didn't come from rich homes or whatnot? I don't think they fleshed out enough of the details. It would have been pretty funny to see big shot lawyers fail horribly at being educators though.

Harvey's family arc, making amends with his mother? There'll probably be a few flashbacks too.

The scenes with Louis and the woman he's going to marry are makibg me cringe. The worst story arc atm. The rest is alright.

Louis's engagement feels so unimportant and arbitrary right now; I'd much rather just see him grinding out work with Katrina and Harvey and getting some associates. Neither he nor Harvey deserves to be managing partner right now.

Especially during a time where he basically had no other options because he's a convicted felon, this seemed like an interesting route, at least for a while. But then I was even more surprised when that offer got killed the two days later, twenty minutes later in the episode. I don't understand the point of even having it in the first place, unless maybe one of the students who he built a rapport with (in a single day... lol) has a parent/ knows a guy who can hook up Mike with a good job because the student trusts Mike and can overlook his conviction? Something like that, maybe to lay a foundation for Mike getting back on his feet? Otherwise, I see no reason as to why that was put into the first episode, nor do I see a way for Mike to get around Anita and ethics committees... ever. Yeah, the episode was bizarre and Suits clearly doesn't really know where it's going, but maybe that's a reflection on its place for its parent network, where it started as a light-hearted comedy-drama and made a weird transition into a dark gritty drama and might be trying to revamp itself as a character drama. Unfortunately, Suits may also be going out and the cast is trying to string the show along because there aren't enough loose ends to make a good conclusion. For crying out loud, it would be nice if anyone on the show did some lawyering. I guess I would say this season is summed up as "fish out of water" and this return episode punctuated that. Mike in his post-lie, post-jail world has a purposeless existence. Harvey and Louis are bad managers and terrible leaders. And Rachel is trying to be normal. I didn't like the ham-fisted theme of misunderstandings and compounding them with anger. It was very out of character for Harvey to lose his cool over something so dumb as Mike blaming him for not getting a job. Katrina is my new favorite character. She's still as devious and backstabbing as ever and I love that about her.

Like others have said, the classroom thing didn't make much sense. I thought he was going to make a bond with that shitface kid in the back of the class, but then 5 minutes later it's just nope, moving on. Mikes confrontation with harvey, then harvey taking it out on louis, and louis misreading the situation with robert zane, it's a giant hot pot of misinterpreted intentions! Feels a bit cheap for the sake of drama.

they are supposed to be top tier lawyers working at a top tier law firm. harvey was once supposed to be the best closer in the city and he read people for a living. now he couldnt read a book if you threw it at his face

Harvey losing his cool was the culmination of everything that happened over the course of the episode and was one of the aspects of that return show that was done the best. Everything with Mike seems weird because everyone knows he is going to end up back at the firm so teasing us with it just seems like a waste of time.
