It says "Usually the Avatar isn't revealed until their sixteenth birthday". So I guess Korra is also an exception to this? Even though the world didn't seem to be in trouble?
Kyoshi consumed the blood of her enemies to rejuvenate herself. She's a Defiler.
Not really. For some reason, Earth Kingdom people just have freakishly supernatural longevity. I guess it reflects Daoist obsession with prolonging their lives in Chinese history.
And Korra didn't need to be told that she was the Avatar. The Order of the White Lotus had to be informed about her; you have to remember that when they found her, she made her entrance with earth, fire and waterbending and declared it herself.

I just think its so boring and obvious to have Typical Male Protagonist Guy get with the Heroine. Not to mention that Korra's date with Bolin clearly went well, and Mako is just a bland turd. I DO Nerds don't want the lithe, cool, pretty boy to get the hot girl. They want the bigger, funny, friend-zoned guy to get the hot girl. Unfortunately, life doesn't work that way. That's why Mako gets lots of hate. + Show Spoiler +You shut up! Bolora has nothing to do with protecting my own self esteem! NOTHING!

Lol maybe I'm still wrong but I thought you said "not really" to the defiler thing... When I read that I thought you were serious. I was like, wow, that's pretty badass. I didn't realize you were referring to starcraft rofl
Anyways, I guess that makes sense, thanks
Hm well her parents could have hidden the fact that only the avatar could bend more than 1 element, but yea I guess it doesn't matter too much when they find out.

Well that may be the majority of relationships in the world, but not all of them... unless when you say hot girl, you are referring to the "hot girl" stereotypes which includes their personalities and not just appearance, in which case the non-lithe/cool/pretty-boys may not want those kinds anyway xD

I think the actual reason for it was that the writers fucked up the dates without noticing and lo Kyoshi lived to 230.
EDIT: I cannot remember where I read that though.

EDIT: I cannot remember where I read that though. Incorrect. Unless they decided to just roll with the error and back it up in Welcome to Republic City, which gives Kyoshi's age as 230 (+ Show Spoiler +) and says that she "is the oldest Avatar in history" (the very last sentence, + Show Spoiler +).
EDIT: Only now do I realize that you're disputing the info given in Welcome to Republic City. XD
Also, Korra would've found out about her identity as the Avatar whether or not her parents told her that's why she could bend 3 elements. Some other kid would've told her about it eventually.

Aang was technically 166, though he spent 100 years not doing anything though.
Also, getting bloodbent is, well, not very good for your health either. I think that might be part of why Katara is still alive but Sokka, Aang and Toph are all dead.
Being struck by lightning probably didn't help Aang's health much either.

Aang had a very long life. The iceberg years counted against him. 100 years straight of maintaining the Avatar state wears you down.

Idk I guess they're just really really healthy? I think Guru Pathik was extremely old as well...its a fictional world there really is no real world logic that can be applied to that question xD
As for the second question about when the avatar learns that he/she is the avatar. After the fire nation sent an all out manhunt for the avatar im sure people wanted to protect the avatar better. Also aang's dying wish was for the white lotus to protect his next incarnation so the white lotus prolly kept their eye on korra for a long time. Additionally, the world has changed a lot since after the war and they prolly want the avatar to be ready as soon as possible if any other problems come up so that he/she doesnt need to learn all 4 elements in the middle of a hundred year war xD
|
The avatar usually isn't supposed to be revealed until they are 16, but it was pretty easy for them to figure out Korra was the avatar when she started bending 3 elements at the age of 4. The White Lotus was also actively looking for the avatar because of Aang's last will. (If you remember in the first episode, the White Lotus dude says that they've been investigating claims.)

LOL I just found the craziest Amon theory...Amon isnt half man half machine, a cyborg, HE'S HALF MAN HALF CABBAGE. lol cabbage man maybe still alive after 75 years xD
|
God, 230 is so long, they could've fit a whole damn Avatar cycle in that time frame.
|
Has it ever been shown how cultures other than the airbenders searched for the avatar? If they always just went around investigating claims I don't see how they could have kept it a secret until the avatar was 16. Unless it was only the airbenders who kept it a secret.

Well I think maybe they don't teach them the other elements or something, so he wouldn't find out?

They all have relics which previous avatars played with. They know when an avatar is born in each kingdom so it isnt terribly hard. They prolly had massive searches. This is a reference to how they find the incarnations of the Dalai Lama in real life btw in Buddhism.
Anyways while the avatar may not be told that they're the avatar at 16 their actual training where they master the elements and more importantly their spiritual side could take place after 16. That doesnt mean that they dont know their the avatar in all circumstances, just that its not "official" yet

The cabbage man made a cameo about 3 or 4 episodes back in Sato was found to be an equalist. They shut down his cabbage empire because it was thought to be a hiding place for the equilists. =]
So as funny as that would be, I don't think Amon is half cabbaga =[
Perhaps machine/cyborg, though... who knows =]
