Episode was really good, curious to find out how alicorn twilight will turn out. This could either be as per normal (which is good), or terrible. Can't wait til next episode!

I love how when Twilight is becoming an Alicorn you can see that the magic that does it comes from herself. Celestia just seems to unlock it or something.

I am a bit disappointed by how little attention Rarity received in season 3, she was essentially a minor character for the entire season. The rest of the mane 6 had at least one episode focused on them, there were also two episodes focused on Spike. In fact, it seemed as though Rarity's character regressed from what she was before. She seemed like a spoilt diva pony. She didn't come across to me as particularly generous, or interested in Sweetie Bell. She seemed quite mean to Sweetie Bell, after trying to be a good sister in season 2. I guess Rarity seemed more of a caricature than a character, which is why I am disappointed.

I don't have much more to add than what has already been said by others. It seemed forced, and very musical. Definitely a unique episode. I do think that they could have made the first half of the episode into its own episode though, with the cutie marks being altered. There was some potential there but I think it was all rushed.

I don't think wet-mane Rarity or Pinkamena were just fan-service though. Pinkie's hair goes straight when she is sad so it made sense to me that she would revert to that style. And wet Rarity made her look sad/despondent. I thought that fit nicely.

Celestia song was good.

I have to say, I quite hate this episode. It was so..rushed. Lack of real plot was filled with songs and there was too many of those for me. And I don't like Alicorn Twilight:/

1. Remember children, you need to be a certain race to become a princess (or be male).

2. You have to be female princess to be an alicorn, sexism is magic!

3. Girls want to have princesses as role models, not realistic intellectuals.

4. Race/Job of the characters is at the mercy of toy sales.

That being said, I think it'll be a great episode and I trust the writers and production staff fully."

1. Racism is silly and never an interesting point.

2. This doesn't actually make sense.

3. This is ambiguously worded, it can mean that this is what girls want or that this is what we will make girls want. I guess we can assume the latter because of the general acidic tone of these bullet points. Even then, I don't think kids are stupid enough for this to happen.

4. EVERYTHING is at the mercy of toy sales.

I hated what they did with the finale, but these are bad reasons to have against it.
