And that would be way more interesting than him just being a bad guy and Guts the good one. his very presence in the world is unleashing the monsters he is "saving them" from his arrival in the world at that tower caused plenty of casualties
Griffith cares about noone but himself hed let every single person in falconia die if that would put him closer
as soon as he gets crowned King hed probably grow bored of playing house and either march on the world or kill off his people
and if we was so noble, why kill the old witch who was remaining a bystander?

The monsters were born when the Emperor Ganishka was killed by the Sword of Resonance. If anything, his presence keeps the apostles in check, at least for now. Sure, it can be a way to sacrify everyone in the long run, but I don't really see the point of sacrifying everyone if not for a second ascent, and I don't see why he'd want a second ascent since he can already kill anyone if he really wants to.
I never said Griffith isn't selfish, his own selfishness brang the end of the first Band of the Hawk for his own good. But once again, I don't know why it would put him closer from his goal to kill more people, considering he's actually "living" his dream, right now.
And he's clearly not noble, did you even read the Golden Era? He showed how far he was able to go for his dreams.
The only one that would want to kill everyone is Femto, not Griffith, like BLinD-RawR said, and I'm not sure if there is a duality there, we'll see in the future. He seemed to have accepted the atrocities he commited for what he thinks is the greater good.

I never said he is noble, i just think his biggest motivation is not just having a big castle and die of old age!
He wants to be a god for humans, the saviour of all humanity.
Lysteria you said it right, he has a dream but his dream is not to rule over nothing, he wants to rule them all, rule them wisely, be fair..
This manga is a complicated subject, the motivations of our characters and a mist of very deep feelings.. he had nothing and he wants it all but not just money or power..
|
True, but Griffith is also ambitious, and not likely to be content with what he gets once he achieves his goal. He may well have decided that ruling an empire of men is now too small a goal, and may want to become a god on an even higher level. Gathering all the people for another sacrifice might just what he needs to take that next step up the ladder.

he hasnt achieved his dream yet, hes not king, the question is what happens after he is king and has no need for the people anymore

he hasnt achieved his dream yet, hes not king, the question is what happens after he is king and has no need for the people anymore Femto was the goal of the God Hands, of course. Now that he's alive, the two worlds will become closer and closer, but that's basically not a problem for those in Falconia, because all of the strong apostles are under his command. If some just tag along because he's fucking Griffith and that means a lot of battle (Todd, or that huge dragon dude), some others seem to really think they can live with humans, like that archer.
The thing with Griffith, is that he just never changed since the beginning of the manga. He never became a bad guy, he's exactly how he was at the start. He considers everyone on his way to be King/Emperor as either tools or enemies. When he became Femto, there was absolutely no change in his character. Instead of sacrifying nobles we didn't care about, he sacrified all those characters we learned to love for 10 volumes, and considering we're following Guts, of course that seems like a change.
His goal is to be the ruler, as a King or as a God, I don't think that really matters. And to achieve that, he needs people following him. All those people in Falconia are now considered tools by him, and I can totally see him protecting them from the merging of the two worlds, even though he's more or less responsible for it. Because if he doesn't, well, he's gonna be the King/God of no one.
And for the bored part you talked about last time, basically each and every God Hand is bored and try to create some action from time to time to humans, and even still they don't try to eradicate all the humans. If you are bored being a King, you're gonna be fucking bored to hell when all humans will be dead. If you want to stay occupied, you need toys to play with.

Answer, what Kings normally do. They rule? Because he's now basically a God doesn't mean he has to always think of something new to do. He can just rule for whatever number of years/centuries he wants and then disappear and become a legend that will have forged the core of the human race for the future.
There are soooo many possibilities that don't include "killing everyone because I'm the main bad guy of the story".

dude that slap was more damage than even guts has managed on griffith

What if we took Berserk and gave it over to Hajime Isayama after Shingeki ends? Seriously, the best thing Miura can do right now is sell the rights.
