I think you ARE ignoring that talk. Pretty sure Jon knew what he was doing and what Qhorin's intentions were, just that it wasn't as pronounced as it was in the books.

Meera and Jojen is being casted for season 3, so I expect they will meet up with them on the way.

So when do you think bron/rickon will meet the reeds? around the point where they are making their way across the lake to the "lone tower" that no one can navigate?
+ Show Spoiler +for that matter, since little to no one watching the series has realized that most of the Starks are worgs, do you think Arya will still have that scene where she discovers Catelyn is dead through nymeria's eyes?

Also, I just love how certain posters from the other thread tend to "guess" all the right plot twists out of nowhere:

The Iron Islanders obviously took up the offer of giving up Theon, and it would be batshit retarded to burn down Witerfell in this scenario. Perhaps Bolton jr. doesn't like the Starks. Also seems extraordinarily weird though, since all through the season we hear nothing other than how popular and loved Robb is in the north.

I also dislike the changes they made in the Others appearance - they are supposed to look smooth and graceful, not like savages

Ill write this without actually checking the books again, but wasnt Ramsay Bolton inside with Theon, being Reek? If so I'd say the tall guy with Theon is Ramsay and thats how the Boltons took Winterfell so easy...

valamorgoles! Love "the faceless man" from bravos. He's pure epic! also, final episode lasted 1 hour? EPIC!

so disappointed how they completely cut the Ramsay plot which was one of the highlights of book 2.... And it also means Ramsay will have no depth, once they introduce him he'll be just another completly new face with no background, which has to hurt them on the long run.... I guess they couldnt spare screentime and resources but still dissapointing
Some unnecessary fundamental changes which are bound to snowball out of control are annoying though. The messing up of Jon storyline, or Robb s lovestory, i get, they wanted to change stuff make it more exciting, at then end of the day the outcome is the same, but things like 1. Shae being in love with Tyrion 2. Xaro getting locked up to die will make it difficult to stay true

How it happened in the books: + Show Spoiler +In the books Ramsay left theon in search for his father's estate (& to rally forces). Then got invited in after he whooped Roderick's army. Eventually he layed waste to winterfell & its inhabitants "because he could". Also he's a dumbass little S*** :x .
That being said, we dont know who burned down winterfell in the series. Setting fire to winterfell would alarm the dudes outside, and would take away from the defences. Besides why bag theon's head if ur not going to take him captive (a turn over to boltons bastard). Its not really you expect of ironborn however. At all.
General thoughts: Its still fun to watch, but I dont see this as 'a song of ice and fire' anymore tbh :[

The tall guy with Theon? the one who knocks him out? That was Dagmar Cleftjaw, his second in command introduced a while back in Pyke.

House of the undying felt kind of unsatisfying for me. Needs more midgets.
But speaking of midgets, Peter Dinklage really played this episode great.

Xaro getting locked up to die will make it difficult to stay true Admittedly, Shae being in love with Tyrion does fuck things up, but only if you keep trying to get the storyline back to the way it is in the books. Maybe Shae doesn't end up sleeping with Tywin? Maybe she does not even get killed by Tyrion? I have to admit, it would suck if that were the case, but the show is different from the books. Different things happen, and, if you ignore the books, they can actually make sense. Like the whole Jon/Halfhand thing. It still makes sense, you just think it sucks because you've read a way better version of it.
As for Xaro.. who cares? He is a minor character who can easily be replaced by whoever.

I think that this episode was written masterfully. Petyr said at the start that everyone "in this room is a liar", and that goes to those at Qarth too. Dany now knows how the game is played, whereas Ned never did.

He is a minor character who can easily be replaced by whoever. the thing about Jon v Halfhand was that it was a showmatch, so Jon didnt really prove his loyalty, since the wildlings didnt ask him, or needed him to join them, and ofc it's lame that the BAMF ranger got captured alive in the first place. The outcome is the same, but yeah, we read the beter version. Thinking about Xaro, yeah they ll probably cut him out after this

Except for the Dany parts, which were incredibly predictable and weak, this was a sick chapter for me :D
I'm gonna miss Xaro tho, cool guy in the books.

i like most of the changes from season 1 and the first half of season 2, compared to the books. But the second half of season 2 had a lot of awkward changes, that didn't feel necessary, even from a money point of view they need to add a lot of more freedom to breath for talking, because as a tv-only fan, i wouldn't understand a lot of things and people need to understand relations between characters and historical events to see the bigger picture. i hope so much that they're getting back on track with season 3

Holy shit these last two episodes were great.
Anyways here's my little list of character's and their stories that were amazing done in Season 2. 1. Stannis. I was a little resistant to Stannis and his character at first but holy smokes he nailed it. A perfect Stannis... I got serious chills during his scene with his red witch. He's almost choking her to death in one moment, seeing the future in the flames with her the next. What a great scene that was. 2. Robb Stark and his waifu. Was very nicely done. 3. PETER fuckin' DINKLAGE. Need I say more? Crying with Shae god damn... 4. Sam and his little gang. 5. Varys. Varys is pretty much on the same level as Tyrion for me... 6. Jaqen. God I was so very much hoping for a face swap there at the end and it was delivered and it was glorious.
The only thing I was truly disappointed with this season was Jon Snow's nothern adventure. They kinda fucked this up imo. The writers just shat all over Qhorin's character. And Jon Snow getting hopelessly lost with Ygritte after one hill... and no slaying of the eagle dude. MEH. This is book material Qhorin fought Jon Snow so that the wildlings would accept him as a "traitor" and deserter of the Wall. Qhorin let Jon Snow kill him, as Qhorin was a superior swordsman to Jon Snow. I feel the show really failed in this aspect.
Other small things like Xaro presumably dying (although I wouldn't be too surprised if they'd pull a fast one and be like oh yeah secret tunnel) along with extremely harsh punishment for her handmaiden are kind of strange. Dany loves her handmaidens. The tower of the Undying was quite pathetic too but honestly what happened in the books just doesn't translate well into film so I understand why they did it and the scene with Drogo was nice.
Hm what else... small characters like Gilly was pretty weak, and the whores were kind of meh. Arya, hotpie, gendry were all mediocre as well this season TBH.
Anyways that's just me being very nitpicky overall this is an amazing television show and a very very very well done book adaptation. To think of how wrong they could have gone... like if Fox had the rights. *puke* HBO hwaiting!

Well, drat. With Doreah surviving, I was hoping they would keep her around for that lesbian scene from book 3 but they just killed her at a later time instead >:C
