Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |

It still wouldn't take one individual more than 30 minutes to kill about a hundred zombies on the fence like that. The fact that they just let them pile up on the fence like they do is absurd.

I'm liking this new season a lot more than the last one but since there was a time period where things settled down and lots of people joined them, it just doesn't make sense why they let them gather around the fence. Many of you have already stated this point so I guess there isn't really any point to me posting it too, it just loses the feel of the show. I know it's just a "show" so there are certain things that just won't make common sense in order for the story to progress but fuck... A bit annoying

Wait Rick? Are you saying that the council knew she was about to turn and pre-emptively killed her?

Yea I'm really liking this season so far except the fence shit.
That shit is just nagging me from a tactical perspective.

I never saw that as a problem in the slightest. A part of me hates the evolution of zombie stories from slow and stupid to fast and semi-intelligent. I disagree that the classic zombie isn't scary, in fact I think they're even scarier in their own way. They fit the bleak post-apocalyptic setting more to me with their sauntering demeanor of lifelessness. It's as if even though they're very feeble and easily dispatched, it doesn't even matter because there's still hordes of them out there. Eventually you'll fuck up and then you'll join them. To me that works far better for a television show, the super-zombies of today would've ended this series in the first season, xD. They're more suited for movies and even then I'm tired of them. I wish we'd see some survivors have to abandon a great settlement simply because of no ammo. That would be a great example of the whittling horde that slow zombies are supposed to be.
A fence getting pushed over just feels like they're getting sloppy about base defense.

Were there more than one fence area they needed to patrol? It's possible they were on the other side doing other maintenance before the huge group of walkers showed up. It wasn't as though 30+ were banging for a couple of days. It was usually 5-10 based on what we've seen these two episodes, and then just this time a lot more showed up which caused the fence to buckle. I still feel like they could be infinitely faster killing them than they were.
Also the zombie face/eye going through the fence was disgustinggg.

I still think the scene from the episode of the zombies falling through the roof was worse than the zombies pushing over the fence

I realized this episode that I care more about the little piglets than I ever have for any of the dead characters in this show.

In order to enjoy the walking dead you have to submit to suspension of disbelief in every way, shape, and form. You are not allowed to question it because fanboys will just tell you to watch something else.
I'm getting really tired of this series shit. How hard is it to have like 2-3 people rotating off and on the fence for most of the day to prevent a zombie build up. There is absolutely zero excuse for it. Look at how easily 1 person can kill 1. God.
The "horror" parts are so god damn cliche too. Zombies barely evading capture because they are the masters of ambush even though they're mindless creatures.
I wish I didn't have such a stubborn attitude about watching things until the end.

I enjoy the delicious tears of the masochistic anti-fan-boys who show up in this thread every year.
"Oh, god it's so bad I hate it I hate it, give me moooreeeeeee."

Eh?
Rick saw the corpses at the end and looked surprised, at least that's what I remember. My first thought when I saw the blood trails was that she turned and was burned as a zombie, but Rick and Tyreese's reactions seemed to imply otherwise.

Do you know what a good human ability would be to enjoy shows? Empathy. I dare to say I have a lot of empathy and I can feel with the characters. With the girls losing their dad etc. It makes it 'less enjoyable' as experience, but overall a better show. Most people argueing don't even give TWD a chance.
I feel a lot of people make wrong judgements, because they are not actually living in a post-apocalyptic scenario having lost half of their family. While you - as outstanding person - can be rational judgement of a the situation like "Lets run of the zombies at the fence with our truck" the characters that are standing face to face with the zombies are probably panicked the fence will break down and they have to decide on the fly. While Rick as former police officer should be able to make quick decisions (as he did) I can perfectly relate to why its not always the best choice.
They are common people, not military, trained soldier or some kind of elite force. Give them a break :/

One thing I wondered about with new walkers in this episode is if their bite is lethal or not. (infection wise) From what I've gathered, a walker bite is mostly deadly due to the necrotic flesh and bacteria that are present in most walkers. When they bite someone, the infection that follows is so heavy that said person will very likely die to it, especially without medicine. There is nothing special in a walker bite, it's just so ridden with bacteria and dead material that it becomes lethal.
However, Patrick was only dead for several minutes to an hour when he started killing people. Similarly, those dead would rise as new fresh walkers with very little to no bacteria or necrotic material. Being bitten by them would be similar to being bitten by a live human.
All that makes me wonder if they killed that father when he may have survived being bitten. Then again, I might be thinking too much about this.

I'm not sure about what happened in the last scene. As I see it, these are the possibilities:- The two quarantined people were indeed sick and dying. One wanted to burn themselves in order to keep the disease from spreading and not turn into a zombie. The other one didn't want that, there was an argument, one killed the other, dragged the body outside and burned them both.
- Same as before, except this time one of the two had already died and turned. So the other one killed the zombie, dragged the body out and burned both.
- A third person killed the quarantined people and burned them, because...
- They were already zombies
- They were alive, but the killer wanted to make absolutely sure there wouldn't be an epidemic
- It's just some psycho murderer or Governor loyalist.
I'm thinking 3.2 or 3.3 because that would nicely drive the plot forward.

Yep, exactly the same thoughts, also I want to admit that all their little society misses Shane as action character ;( What a brutal person he was, and he's style fits the apocalypse environment. He would've eliminate all those zombies one by one as they come closer to the fence.
Tyrese and he's friend looks like they came from Left 4 Dead 2 tbh, just almost similar characters :D
P.S. Sry, edit fail

I actually thought that was one of the best episodes so far. It seemed well structured and the scenes just fit together. The camera work was good, etc. Sure, it was no Breaking Bad, but it was very good for TWD.

The people taking refuge with Rick's people are too damn unreliable and can't fend for themselves.

Gotta say, I enjoyed the second episode a lot, was about to quit the show but the return of more horror elements makes it a lot more fun for me to watch
