Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |

only plot hole that bothers me is that there are so many walking dead (see: endless amounts) when this small little ragtag group of dumbasses can survive in the thick of it all
jk i love the walking dead

For the arguement of "so many people in such a small space" I argue two points.
1) Like people have pointed out, driving a few hours on clear roads with no speed limits gets you REALLLY fucking far out. Rick probably would know there was a prison nearby his city though, but when the apocolypse hits and their all on foot and whatnot, the prison could be days away through some pretty shitty terrain / zombie infested place. Then they go off and get completely lost anyway / tied down by carls shooting / baby blah blah.
2) So many people magically meeting in a small space in a zombie apocolypse? If you've ever played DayZ. (Yes, somewhat unrealistic xD but gets my point across) when your wandering the countryside looking for X landmark or Y city to scavenge from, you could stumble across fucking anybody around the next corner. :-D
Somewhat troll post...I always enjoy the walking dead untill i find the unparralled bullshit in TL's thread

another fantastic episode. Based on next week's preview shown at the very end, I wonder if Milton+Andrea will be able to stop the Governor.

+ Show Spoiler +I personally want to see Tyrese kill the governor after he learns about his plans once Andrea tells him.

Why the fuck did they change the air time by an hour? Isn't everything supposed to adjust with DST? This sucks. I missed it..... Also, I'm from Arizona originally so this DST shit messes with me as it is....

Excellent episode. I liked the Governor asking if Rick wants a drink, like the dudes they met randomly in Season 2 asked him.

acceptable episode, the overall plot is still way too predictable (oh, the governor is full of shit you say? riveting) but the bed is made and must be occupied for these last three episodes. cool little character moments abounded; oddly enough, the most boring exchanges by far were between rick and the governor before michonne was brought up, and even then it takes all of a few seconds to understand that rick wouldn't do that, but the reveal that he's not buying even a little bit of the governor's spiel was heartening.
also, uh, I'm fairly immune to being titillated by TV after being desensitized from watching four seasons of Spartacus but the glenn/maggie makeout session was interesting simply because TWD has a level to ascend to, whereas the former isn't satisfied unless it's shown 5-10 full frontal shots an episode.

+ Show Spoiler [next episode preview] + It LOOKS like Milton is turning to help Andrea, and I really hope this is the case. If he's making himself out to be a historian, and the show has made him into this soft-spoken & caring individual, he could never follow a plan that the Governor is concocting.
|
Great f***** episode, wow... that dialogue was so damn tense. I can't wait for the end of all of this. Tbh I was surprised thta andrea didn't go back with rick man... and I really hope that rick doesn't bring up the michone thing again

Yeah, episode was sick. I really like what they did with the governor storyline despite it being completely different. Only thing I'm not really enjoying is + Show Spoiler [Comic comparison] +How poopy Andrea is portrayed in the show. She's such an amazing character in the comics and she's just a huge pain in the ass in the show. Oh well, hopefully they'll bring her character around because I don't think her actress is bad . Other than that I'm diggin' this season. Looking forward to the last three!

Other than that I'm diggin' this season. Looking forward to the last three! + Show Spoiler [More comic stuff] +Maggie could easily take the role that Andrea has in the comics. Unlike her comic counterpart, TV Maggie is a competent fighter who will put herself in the frontlines. If they develop her into a good sniper, Maggie and Glen would make an amazing duo.
I feel like Andrea is nonredeemable at this point. Even if she does become a badass sniper who can shoot someone's fingers and ears off on command, viewers will still associate her smirk with being an annoying moron. Maybe they're trying to build her up to the point where she suddenly shows up to provide covering fire for Rick's group towards the end of the Made to Suffer volume.

A nerve wracking battle of wits and nerves between two men at the edge of their patience, their sanity, their humanity. Both of whom are at the same time terrified and vindictive. Then fucking Andrea waltzes in like it's a goddamn soap opera and she just caught her husband cheating with her thought-to-be-dead mother or something, completely ruined it for me. At least they basically ignored her, so that almost made up for it. I've never hated a character so much in my life. Great episode though.
It's interesting how Rick is pretty much legit retarded now, like he's only participating in the real world like 30% of the time. Great dynamic character, and amazing acting. Really it's to be expected, too, seeing as how they basically live in a never-ending Vietnam War.

Its a TV show, you guys do know zombies are not actually attacking right? I think we sell Secondary Worlds short with this sort of attitude where it is acceptable to have lazy world building.
"Inside it, what he relates is 'true': it accords with the laws of that world. You therefore believe it, while you are, as it were, inside. The moment disbelief arises, the spell is broken; the magic, or rather art, has failed. You are then out in the Primary World again, looking at the little abortive Secondary World from outside." -Tolkien
It is more about creating an "illusion of historical truth." To consistently suppose a world where they do exist. I do quite like the series. But to put it more broadly, the consistency argument in any ficitional universe is never over whether the ficitional creation exists, but whether fictional creation is consistent with itself.
Funny. The last two episodes are really good stand alones. They just feel a little choppy jumping between the two.

I'll restrain from typing too much here. This was probably the worst episode yet.

You do know that rick is planning to hand michonne over right? He doesnt buy completely into the governors promise but he's going to do it anyway out of hope. Basically for him it came down to Michonne or Son / Daughter like the governor fed into his mind, he questioned hershel the same thing at the end, Michonne or daughters and he couldnt answer either.
Seems like you missed that bit
|
No way will Rick hand over Michonne. If he doesn't realize himself that that would be wrong, Carl will convince him after having taken a liking of her during the last episode.
Now, with Rick's and the Governor's followers fraternizing during the negotiations and it becoming more and more apparent that the Governor is evil, it seems possible that he is toppled before it comes to a battle. But then what? I can't imagine Rick's group just living alongside Woodbury in peace happily ever after, much less moving in there, even with their leader gone. Neither would Woodbury wage war without him. Some other event will occur to mix things up.
So I'll hazard a guess: the Governor is assassinated, leaderless Woodbury is overrun by zombies, and Andrea, Milton and Tyreese are able to flee and join up with Rick.
|
Ahhhh man, another awesome episode, those scenes between the governor and rick so tense! Love how they tied in last episode being a Michonne character builder so you can see why Rick would be hesitant to just hand her over.
|
If andrea and milton flee to rick and survive whatever happens i'll be pissed, i dont like either of their characters and milton just doesnt fit into the group at all imo, he survived at woodbury because the governor made him do fucked up lab tests instead of be in the outside world
Also, if something other then all out war occurs, it will likely be the huge herd thats supposedly floating around turning up, we've had talk of this herd and the "red zone" for ages and nothings come of it, just a few here and there.
Perhaps the gunfight will lure this herd making it a 3rd factor.
Rick handing over michonne is a difficult one to call, nobody wants to do it but theres very clear reasoning to do it, especially with their frame of mind atm, will be interesting how it pans out.
The preview for next week was interesting too, perhaps the governor is actually brought down by andrea / milton / tyreese, either way somethings going to happen.
Cant wait
