Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |

I think a grand total of 6 people in Rick's grp will be alive and Woodbury will be abandoned.

I have a feeling that Maggie will die and Andrea will take her place. Someone in the group will die.... I think atleast

Yeah someone in the group will definetely die. For the sake of the show I hope Andrea, Maggie and Carl dies. Someone earlier talked about how they didn't like how the Governor has been portraied, but I actually really like it. He has not been defined like most showrunners rush to do as early as possible, and that I appreciate. Why must we always know exactly what we are dealing with. Having characters develop and evolve all the time makes them unrealistic in a sense, while continually seeing new sides to a character (while not being over the top contradictory) is refreshing in a way.

To the comic-reading guys: + Show Spoiler +Will there be some big reveal about the governor at some point that explains his actions, or is he just crazy and that's it? A short answer would be preferred, since I don't want to be spoiled too much.

Damn if I were Rick I'd have killed the Governor the second I saw him in that house. Without the Governor they're nothing...

+ Show Spoiler +This was covered in a novel [ Rise of the Governor. However the Governor in the comics is quite different in my opinion. Much more sadistic and proper leader as opposed to the almost resentful lazy leader in the series. However the basic idea is that there are supposed to be parallels between him and Rick, they were both normal, good people who have gone through hell and adapted to the new world as a leader of group. Rick tends to go through ups and downs in terms of empathy in the comics, at times he really sinks into quite a sadistic character, although I won't spoil why / how, a lot of it has to do with Woodberry but the TV series has taken a totally different approach and the story is totally different with different people in different places / new characters / people dying who didnt, people not dying who did etc so really I'm as much in the dark as you are in terms of whats going to happen.

Without going into detail I feel like this episode was much closer, in terms of structure, to the same story arc in the novels. Looking forward to the how they'll escalate it.

That's one thing that was kinda puzzling from that last episode to me. Both guys were going into that meeting hating the other and after all the shit that each side has inflicted to the other I'm pretty sure neither one of them expected talking to solve anything. In particular, I thought the Governor would try to kill Rick, especially after they showed the hidden gun. I mean, he already slaughtered a group of soldiers that he barely knew, so why would he not do something similar (or worse) to someone he hated and knew was a bigger threat?

Merle said it earlier, the governor is the type of guy who wants to kill everyone in Rick's group before finally killing Rick. He enjoys watching others suffer or giving them false senses of security (See white flag, national guard ambush) then ripping it apart. The gun i think was just to show that the governor's always got a knife (figuratively) hidden somewhere in the dark.
The governor said it also that he could of killed them all in that initial attack but he wanted to scare them and let them know whos in charge.
Edit: The talk scene is just build up, obviously realistically they would of just shot each other dead on sight but that would be a pretty quick and boring season ending.

Let's also not forget that the Governor really wants Michonne dead, and using Rick to get her easily is, at this point, still an option for him.

As far as the show goes, moving past the Woodbury plot line she is really excess baggage imo, plus in general she is obnoxious.

Yea, I agree that if they just shot at each other it would have ended things pretty quick. I accidentally read some spoilers from the comics though and know that + Show Spoiler +Rick loses a hand to the Governor. After watching the preview from the last episode I was expecting something like that to happen.
Even though his main target is Michonne, I thought it would have been more fitting for the Governor to try to kidnap them and then use that to bait the rest of the group back to them. He should know that Rick's group is too much of a threat to toy around with. I guess this might have dragged it out a little too long though, since they only have a few episodes left.
