Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |

When they leave him there, knowing he is just going to slip more and more into madness, very powerful. Especially seeing how his situation is basically a glimpse into Rick's future (at least that's how Rick sees it).
Then the backpack scene at the end, gives us a perfect view of both the horrific brutality and hopelessness, and their changing perceptions of it. For me this was one of the best episodes in the series at communicating exactly the world they've created. I'm conflicted on the backpack guy. On the one hand it showed exactly what you said. On the other, I have a REALLY hard time believing a backpacker like him survived for this long. Good episode though. I was thinking this exact same thing killa_robot. But I mean you could place any number of back stories on it to make it plausible. Maybe he was with other survivors and everyone else got killed so now he's just desperate etc. Overall great episode though. I really enjoyed watching it and I'm glad they came across Morgan. I believed his desperation and his insanity. I have a feeling Morgan will be back, maybe become the hero of the day when the governor returns to the prison. We'll see though. The day they didn't help him was the day he chose to die. It felt kind of odd, but at least it got a good point across.
I think it would ruin the point of Morgan if he were to come back. He paints a strong picture of what a mans world can become when everything meaningful is lost but you aren't willing to commit suicide. Were he to come back it would feel like there's a lack of weight to this new world.

This episode reminded me how much better the first episode was to the rest. Very enjoyable.

When they backed up the car and grabbed the backpack at the end... so perfect.

The comeback of Morgan was something I reckon many viewers like myself were antipicating. It's definitely done well but personally I'm disappointed by the outcome, I feel there's much more there than what they have elected for a guy with this much integrity and background story, not forgetting he has (had) Rick's complete trust. Well there's no knowing yet, maybe they'll bring him back and I hope they will, either way I'm sad they decided to kill off his son, though it'll probably turn out to have been necessary for some reason. ^^
The episode was rather disappointing. Ending scene was brilliant as many here said, really well done as were a few other scenes. That aside, nothing really happens so here's to hoping the next one will be action-packed!

It wasn't bad. Seeing what Morgan had become was pretty interesting, the end part with how they saw the backpack guy on the way back and retrieving that bag was a good way to end that episode. When I finished watching that episode I was pretty surprised that it was 40mins!!!
Last few episodes I was just like annoyed at the pacing of those conversations >_> Overall I enjoyed this episode.

I liked it, but it was kind of completely detached from the rest of the story this season, but maybe that's why it was good.

Please, more episodes like this. The show shouldn't be about turf wars between factions, but about what it means to live in a post-apocalyptic world.

I like how Ric was saved by multiple people, but when he got the occasion to do the same, he just doesn't try to

You either kill or get killed and mind your own business. Helping that dude on the road would only be one more mouth to feed for them, something they can't afford.

It's still illogical then because he needs arms to have a chance against the governor

Sure, give the random guy you just met a gun and tell him to join a fight you're most likely not going to survive. Nothing could possibly go wrong.

Well, they are already what, 9-10? What use do they have to bring in a complete stranger like that in a situation like this? Not really the time to have trust issues with some random dude. In that case they would have recruted the other group that came to the prison earlier already. At least they "know" Merle and have Daryl to keep him in check, they may not trust Michonne 100% (but after todays episode its starting to losen up) but at least she have proven herself. And both her and Merle also have their own agenda against the Governor.

I think it's safe to assume that the herd would have run over his farm with or without Ricks group there.

Wow, i think this was the best episode they've ever done

Something I found interesting about this episode is that it could completely stand on its own. You could show this episode to anyone who hasn't been watching The Walking Dead and I bet they could still enjoy it. I feel like what this episode brings - characters struggling to cope, trust issues, remembering the past - are all more appealing to an audience than some over the top character like the Governor.

Just got caught back up... but did anyone notice that when Hershel got up to yell at Rick in Episode 11, you could see his leg hanging behind him, shoe and all?
Talk about shitty production value...

Talk about shitty production value... Only if you're really looking for it. I honestly think it's amazing how much they do with pure prosthetics and makeup rather than making the whole thing in bad CGI.

Talk about shitty production value... I thought I saw that too during that episode, but I thought I was just going crazy. I had editing problems this past episode a few times. I used to do some video editing for friends and these issues are so distracting, pulls me away from the experience.
