Honestly the humour is staggeringly dumb for being considered a nerd show. Also all the constant obvious fake laughter is somewhat anti climatic, and the pathetic sex jokes make me think it's aimed toward 13 year old virgins ![]() The simpsons and south park are my personal preference atleast ^^

![]() Then again the "you-have-to-laugh-now-too-because-we-do"-laughter is annoying as hell and takes a lot of the fun out of it again. I still hope that they take that out at some point then it would be great

And even if they did, and all the laughter is 100% real, it doesn't change that fact that it is still a terrible thing that should have completely died off almost a decade ago. It's not the laughter being fake that makes it bad. http://www.theonion.com/articles/ha-ha-ha-i-cant-believe-how-funny-this-sitcom-is,11318/ Anyway, I like the show. Its not great but its funny enough to be worth my time, although it is probably the worst comedy show that I do follow, just a bit below How I Met Your Mother (as it so happens, the only other show with a laugh track that I do watch). have you ever been to a live comedy show, like a standup act or something? trust me when you get in a crowd, things that would normally make you just smile slightly at home would have to cracking up. especially when a lot of people probably have a few drinks before they go to watch these things, which makes them immensely funnier. ive gone to live shows of some comedians and even though if i watched them at home i probably would have barely smiled (even though im laughing inside), when im watching the same comedians live i crack up like a madman.

Well as I said, even if that is completely true it doesn't make it any better, at all.

And btw, what happened to the girlfriend Leonard had for a while, the doctor? She just disappeared after a couple of episodes as far as I know, or did they explain where she went?

Completely unbelievable character with really lame lines. He acts as if he's gay. Why do they think lack of social skills = gay? It annoys me. It's probably because the actor that plays him is gay but it's just a massive miscast. He should be self-conscience yet he's almost flamboyant. A genius scientist wouldn't act like that. Apart from him the show is really good.

Really the only somewhat grounded characters are Leonard and Penny, and they are completely unfunny on their own.

![]() And to say anything other than MST3k is the best nerd show ever is borderline offensive. Maybe I need to watch more of Big Bang Theory though...

Imagine putting a character like a young House, perhaps a bit more socially awkward, in the mix. Someone a bit miserable who has funny lines of their own. Either that or just make Sheldon gay. That would make sense at least.

I was just saying that your complaint of Sheldon seemed applicable to a whole bunch of other characters as well. Basically I think this show is a really good premise pulled of really bad. The end result is ok but could have been fantastic in the hands of some really good directors/writers (and making it single camera, no live audience crap).
