They better not go firefox/chrome route and call every update a new version now
7 must be worth it They might just... kinda scared for it now.

This better be more than just hero changes if it's a major video + tweet the hype vid; I for one am excited to get back into dota with this patch since I've been out of it for a while.

I am all for that. If there ever was one where it made sense not to invite any team to a major/TI this was it. Quals are also hype. The qualifications are better than the actual event, in my opinion, but maybe they will be more fair now, since EU/CIS got split. Also gives some of the smaller casters/studios a bit of love! Agreed.

Fifteen and a quarter hours from now is high noon on the east coast. We already know Monkey King's voice actor is the same guy who did McCree in Overwatch. Way to meme, Valve.

I mean the introduction of the first new hero since Valve Doto should be an event important enough to grant itself a new unit in the patch naming

Plot twist: first patch note states that IceFrog has now officially retired from being the sole game designer.

Structural changes to the map, major item changes, hero revamps, gameplay changes. All of those, I Hope
Hopefully it stays dota and doesn't feel like a Leaguey dota! SUPER HYPE

I am all for that. If there ever was one where it made sense not to invite any team to a major/TI this was it. Top 4, three invited teams. In general they over-performed compared to qualifiers, as always. I am also for not having any invites since that is more high quality Dota to watch. I actually prefer just to have the winners represent, but maybe even without that. It brings a can of worms, and at the end of the day, it is not sportsmanlike, but favoritism. One of the problems is that teams can pick and choose tournaments, sometimes even rest on their laurels, as it has no consequence, others dare not enter tournament in fear of being revoked of one, and yet another worm is that it gives the advantage to study your opponents unfold the meta, and you just take notes and improve.
When we had more invites, we just had more teams that were rusty, and things were kind of level, because everyone were rusty.
