If they kept stalling, I believe PL could have pulled away pretty well. And if they could pressure the game into fights that were more on their own turf, it would have been much easier to really make the potential big combos they had work. i don't see how pl would pull ahead; he doesn't naturally farm faster than sf or gyro and lgd diligently stayed spread out so they could never 100-0 both sf and gyro with their combo

It also shows how new talent and old talent together fosters the growth of both. Even if you aren't going to put them on the same team, the second team helps both teams grow. The mothafuckin' Director He's already graduated from being "director". Chinese commentators have called him "8师傅" (basically master/teacher) for some time now.

He did shown up in the main stages though. I'm just sad for my fellow Singaporean, especially since he was on the undisputed best teams for the past 2 years (dk Vici both were #1 at the first half of each dota year).

I don't remember what VG banned in the second phase but giving ES away might have been a mistake. Even picking it over DS and putting icex3 on it + another support to work around the offlane would have worked. Earthshaker is balanced. He's melee so all the complications in laning such a hero are present. His non-ult damage isn't that great unless you play him mid. Various supports can still use their ults to some degree without a costly item like dagger but for earthshaker your lucky to use it in more than 1 out of 50 instances without a 2.5K+ item. He is exceptional in being useful even when starved for levels compared to almost every other hero and it's that utility from fissure that ensures he is relevant across multiple patches.

Honestly, I think fissure range should be nerfed just a little. Its too easy to get early game blocks off now. This is of course taking into account the fact that ES is a hero with 3 stuns and one evens goes through BKB in an AOE fashion.

You can't do much with that duo though. Their whole strat was to farm up, and do to lgd what they did to c9 - lift ice blast laguna the sf or gyro, then pl wipes out the rest. Difference is that this time lgd had es to disrupt the combo.
