2) Fountain hooks are bullshit. I'm still fuming from that game.

5) That was one of the best final games of any tournament I've ever watched
6) juff is a fucking boss for live reporting all the games. seriously, what a hero
7) China disband... or at least massive reshuffle. i expect a very interesting chinese scene for the next few months
8) Amazing production from the team. There are a lot of things they can improve about TI in general, but overall great job.
9) Thank god azarkon was banned for the main event.
10) Long live Dota 2!

2) was confirmed a bug, NaVi was not allowed to do it in the GF by Valve.

I agree with everything else besides 7), they did much better than people thought considering what ACTUALLY happened and what almost no one realized.

I quickly checked the bug list and it's not a bug. However you can block pudge hook with astral titan, good to know :p

Check that. It's on the dev forum, just have to look around.

It's classed as a visual bug and not a gameplay bug right now because fountain hooks are intended, but the visual of the hook not matching the actual hook trajectory is NOT intended.

The last thread discussing the issue got moved to the visual bugs subforum, which is why you don't find it on the gameplay known bugs list.

Ok thank you.

This is correct, but they may have asked Na`Vi politely to avoid using it in the grand finals anyway.

The bug is that it gets hooked at all.

The Ancestral Spirit is not supposed to interact with abilities like hook.

Chinese casters.

Basically there are cases of fountain hooks (every angle that's not directly from the fountain) where the hook projectile (Pudge original position) is the one that you'd need to dodge but it's invisible while the hook visual that you see comes straight from the fountain. That's confirmed as a bug on the dev forum as well. The last pages of the day 3 thread have some insight on that by Yango.

Its unclear how they are going to fix the bug, however. They might leave the ability to fountain hook the same, but make it so it can always be seen.

Trying to fix the mechanics is gonna be really hard because of the way the hook mechanics work. I think they are better off moving the hook mechanics to DotA 1 hook mechanics.

7.) is sad since TF was literally fountain-hooked out of WB.

3.) is just sad.

Let's just say Na'vi got really fucking lucky to make it to the finals. I mean this with all respect, but I can't see it as any more than pure luck. But hey, luck plays a huge part in all tournaments. So long as Azarkon doesn't try to make 2.) or 3.) a point in arguing how West > East.

7 was decided to be left in the by dev forums and icefrog, and valve said everything in the game is legal at the start of the tourney. I'm not really sad about tongfu, even with fountain hooks they had the advantage and didn't capitalize on it(like all china teams).

I agree Navi lucked their way to grand finals.

Is 3 talking about the aegis deny?

Edit: I'd like it if they fix the bug with the hook animation and leave it in!

Nothing to do with being angry or not. The gameplay is intended but the visuals not matching the effect is unintentional. That part is the bug that we're talking about.

There should be a month of break for the players, then the Big shuffle of teams will begin. This time DOTA2 is more popular so i predict more tournaments, to i think maybe in 1 or 2 months we will have more tournaments.

It is about fucked up visuals.
Basically the hook was invisible. Having invisible spells is a big no go.

i'll be making a dota2 LR resources thread soon heh, i'm surprised you got hooked so quickly though

That final game was seriously the single greatest thing I have ever seen in my(esports) life. Better than Squirtle Mvp, better than DRG MMA and all that.

it's quite rare though - i've watched dota for the better part of a year and dota still has the problem that games are quite long, the metagame can stagnate, and sometimes the death animation takes a looong time. that game was one in a million

Navi actually outplayed Alliance the whole game till the million dollar Dream Coil (aside from Dendi dying at Rosh). Then they loss whatever advantage they had from that moment.

There was little chance Alliance would win if the Dream Coil didn't happen.

How about first Rosh?
I think their strategy is to dumpster bad Western teams (c) uriel
