It's probably better to think of it in Valve's "soon" time though

I tested dagger on Puck in a private game against the ai. I still was able to teleport when I received damage. Kelen's Dagger was only disabled, when I fought Rosh. I can also fight dummies without letting my dagger become disabled. I haven't tested that in a public game, but it is at least disabled when I'm hit by hostile heroes. The description says, it should be disabled, once damage (no matter from whom) had been received. I also tried other game modes, in single-player it's always the same. This sucks, because I like to test the game mechanics calmly and it surely led to my demise in a pub once. I need to rely on the mechanics.

According to dotastrategy.com, it says Kelen's Dagger Gives: Active: Blink Teleports the caster to 1200 range. Can't be used if the carrier was damaged by an enemy player-controlled unit or Roshan in the last 3 seconds. 75 manacost. 14 seconds cooldown. edit: I wouldn't be too anxious about trying it out in a public game, but I might try an easier hero to use Dagger with, like Lion or Zeus.

If someone wants to try out dagger, use it on a hero, where it's almost mandatory, like Tiny or Centaur Warchief. I was also confused about the so-called 'backstab' by the Nerubian Assassin. It's just normal extra-damage when he attacks out of the invisibility. Don't trust all in-game-descriptions.

I'm in Australia and I'm not sure if NA will lag less than Asia etc, simply because I don't know where the games are hosted from. If i'm not wrong it's Singapore + Shanghai for Asia Seattle for US West France for EU Not sure for US East. For now, these makes it very hard to queue in Asia though because between Singapore and Shanghai, i got 300 ping difference and i can't really specify as they are both grouped under Asia so basically it's just luck. Likewise i much prefer US West but i can't just queue US West and will sometimes get US East. If you are in Australia then definitely just queue US. Hopefully you'll get US west then it's very playable. US East then a little more laggy. Singapore might be better for you but in case you get Shanghai, it's unplayable.

Obviously I'm not accounting for something, so what am I missing about this hero?

In all honesty I don't see why he is that great (in the context of teamfights). His orb does negligible damage, his shift contributes nothing, and his ult is only a ministun and 200 damage (no, the enemy is not stupid enough to break the coil, barring specific circumstances). So all that's left is his silence, which is not bad, I guess. Obviously I'm not accounting for something, so what am I missing about this hero? Blinkdagger. As you may know, there is a 3 sec cooldown on the dagger after taking hero damage. Her Phafe Shift lasts for 3 seconds at the highest level. See where I'm going with this? Once puck has her dagger she becomes extremely hard to kill if you don't have enough disabling spells. Also, you make it sound like her spells are mediocre. 3 second AOE silence? A spell that let's her dodge almost any other spell in the game, with a 6 second cooldown? An ulti that may force an entire team to be stuck in a small area or be forced to stun themselves? Remember, being in a bad position is most of the time just as terrible as being stunned. She doesn't have amazing damage output but she does so much more that that, and she happens to be my favorite hero. Great guide for Puck: http://www.playdota.com/guides/you-cant-kill-me

Great guide for Puck: http://www.playdota.com/guides/you-cant-kill-me 3 second aoe silence is one of the most disrupting things you can do in teamfights, along with orb which chains them in a certain aoe, resulting in incredibly strong synergy with other team fight spells. damage isnt great but thats not why you pick puck though its still a good amount. also is an effective ganker and very good teamfight. just has relatively weak stats but people scrape by. i'm a bit sad scepter buffs the damage instead of the cd

Also, Puck isn't a focus target; nobody cares if you can't kill a Puck, and the FD won't win any game by itself. It's good, but really it's no different from Sand King or Leshrac with the way it's used.
