Last few months my teams always consist of flamers, afkers, people who feed on purpose etc etc. So after being tilted game after game I embranced it, changed my ign to something really toxic and started acting like that as well. It's like a never ending circle. Is there any way to get out of it? Every time I try to act normally, I just get titled again by extremely toxic players. | ||

As you describe it IS a never ending circle. Because people are not definitely toxic or happy, you bring that to them, too. I mean sure, some people are more inclined to be assholes, or nice, depending on the mood/character. But if you come along being toxic, you'll probably end up getting the toxic side of them (you know, the good old "if you troll, i'll troll you back twice harder" - never ends). My 2 cents : take a pause from the game, and mute anyone rude/toxic asap. And never flame. I'm not saying people do not deserve flame, but flaming will ruin your game anyway. | ||

The game made me like that, after countless toxic games I started acting toxic myself. And now, every time I try and play seriously, I can't escape the constant toxic teams I run into. | ||

Just stop fucking playing. There's no sense in doing something purely for pleasure if you don't enjoy it. There are other more isolated competitive experiences if that's your pursuit, but ultimately the answer is almost definitely that you're being shitty/toxic and not recognizing it. I've met plenty of pleasant humans through dota, and I've yet to meet anyone shitty in dota that isn't equally shitty in real life. | ||

Of course you can run those pushers as cores but fighting is still the best way to get XP/gold. I'm playing most of the time along with 2 or more people I know aren't toxic, which makes meeting toxic people actually a rarity. As described before muting toxic people helps immensely. I give people two shots, when the second flame comes up they get muted and reported. I mean sure sometimes we get the blame train etc, but it's like 1 in 10 games. On average I'd say that 1 in 5 people are generally toxic and have low patience, exchanging half of the people with friendly people really dumps the encounter-rate. | ||
